I think that McDonalds, KFC and Burger King taste different in the USA. In fact I think they are nicer.
Plenty of people however tell me the opposite. What do you think?

When I moved to the UK I couldn't eat a lot of the red meat as it was really different to me. Having moved back to Orlando with DH he hasn't had the problem I had when living in a different country but can detect differences. That would apply to all dining and not just fast food.
Checkers is my favorite for burgers but I'm not too sure that everyone would enjoy their chips as they aren't anything like what you normally have.
I don't know as I don't eat it here or there lol
I do sometimes get a burger in the parks or more likely, my weakness, a pizza!
we think they taste different too, we do like the food better out there apart from the mcdonalds in walmart on the 192 had several bad experiances in there so we vowed never to eat there again. dennys is one of our favourites.

Frisco Melts will differe from place to place but it is generally American and Swiss Cheese with a special sauce.
Steak-N-Shake do these and they are a favorite of mine (the place). If you go to the one on 535 go expecting it to be a slow dinner. They are generally on the slow side but we've never had a problem with that.
There is a Frisco Melt commercial on You Tube if you want to actually see one....lol.
Yes we agree the 'fast food' seems better in the USA compared to what we get in the UK - especially McD's & BK!

When I visited England (only the northern bits, alas, though I loved it all) in 1994 I studiously avoided McDonald's and any US export places. (I'm one of those people who feels sad to see places from here obliterating whatever was original in another culture; on the other hand, if people genuinely like and want something from the US in their country, then that's their choice and could be seen as part of genuine consensual cultural development.) I did, however, have something called "Wimpy Burger." It was... um... not very good. But apparently they have a reputation for that, I heard afterward...

Wimpy's are almost gone in the UK (there's one near me, a sad little relic of the 1970s). http://www.wimpy.uk.com/menu-bgr.html (yes, they really do sell a 'bender in a bun' :omg: )
They were rubbish then and I don't think they've improved. They were named after the Popeye character, but I don't think he'd have eaten there! In my experience it was a greasy spoon without the charm - somewhere you could take your gran for a burger because it had plates and you used knives and forks.
I do, however, mourn the loss of Burger King's 'Mushroom Double Swiss', which was a favourite of mine in the 90s here.

Mcdonalds is much nicer in the USA! Dont know about the others. We only really got to Mcdonalds in Downtown Disney.
x
We love BK over there, they seem bigger and are only half the price.
Been to several in US, however think McDonalds we used on 192 in 2006 was dire.
Did have a few "Chic-Fil-A's" (sp!) though, plan to do so again this summer.

What do you mean "only the northern parts alas"???? Us lot up north are the friendliest people in the world. :pgig: :pgig: :pgig: :pgig:
There is a few McD's in florida (namely the one on I-drive approaching Festival Bay Mall & the one at Orlando airport) where the food is good but the service is terrible.
So strange for the US to have such generally great service and yet have some of the rudest at the same time.
I was barked at by some girl in the airport. (Not literally of course!).

I'd swear they were completely different companies!! I never eat McDonalds here because it gives me an upset stomach (well, only tried 2 things on the menu and both had the same result!) but that was our first meal on the way to our villa last time and it was lovely. It didn't really taste like fast food but rather a nice quality burger

Not that it is an excuse but I'm sure the people working at the airport don't always deal with a day full of happy campers as far as customers go so I'm sure it is hard to be so friendly and 'how can I help you, sir' attitude. They've got to get an awful lot of unhappy and cranky travelers due to layovers, delays, etc. Again, not an excuse but the airport is the last place I would want to work in the retail/food service industry.
