I didn't see this posted already so thought I'd pass on the dates....

Disney Liquidation Sale
Friday, April 18th through Sunday, April 20th

Celebration K-8 School Gym
510 Campus Street

I attended the last one and posted some pictures after I got back. Everything is 70% off and although it is absolute chaos it is well worth a look and I'm sure I'll go back.

There isn't anything posted on Celebrations website yet but I will add to this thread when I see it.

Go here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=169873&highlight=disney+liquidation+sale) if you want to take a look at last years thread to get a better idea of what you can expect.

Hmmm. You know, for those who miss this sale, I know a place nearby which has Disney stuff for sale all year round... this sale seems to be Disney merchandise, just available at sale prices, I think, but this place has the stuff you can't normally buy at all...

They're not just on eBay -- they have this huge warehouse anyone can visit and buy from. However, you may not be able to fit a duvet from the Grand Floridian in the luggage for the plane trip back, or an armoire from the Wilderness Lodge.

Yes, that's right, you can find some things which were for sale in the parks, but also signage. They have tons of those round 50th anniversary Happiest Celebration On Earth signs lying around.

Since we're huge fans of it, Cubby I have mostly furnished our home in Animal Kingdom Lodge. :o:

They restock everyday so it is worth going to. There is TONS of stuff! You just never know what you'll find. I went to the last one and expected to spend a few bucks....left spending just over $100....so at 70% off that was some pretty good savings!

We always miss this twice a year! We're flying back on 18th but from Miami otherwise I would have popped in and left a bit of space to pack a case in the car but think we'll be all zipped up and ready to go so will miss it again! Maybe next time!

Oh, we come home on April 8th so will miss it. :( Looking at last year's thread, it looks like we'll miss the one this October, as we don't arrive 'til the 20th - do they tend to stick to roughly the same dates each year?

OOOOOO

I'm soooooo excited.

We had a free day in our itinerary for the 18th and it's DS's 4th birthday on 20th so we can visit Celebration, do the sale and get his prezzie all in one go!

Thanks for the post.

How do we find out about times, directions, etc?

I've been waiting for months for these dates to be posted as we are never in Florida in April or October, but are out in April this year :)

Just my luck though, we fly home the day before

Have fun those that can go, I'd love to!

I'm going to have a look at Mousesurplus though :)

You can keep an eye on the Celebration website or you can find them here closer to the time. I will post the details on this thread as soon as I see them.

We got there on the opening night and arrived about 15 minutes before it opened. There were at least 100 people in the queue to get in and it was a bit of maddness when we first went inside. I think I will do it differenly this year as last time I grabbed a box and walked up and down the rows. The boxes actually are hard to get around with. If I do pick a box I'd pick a long box and not a wide one. I went around a few times because it was easy to miss things because of the excitement and how busy it was. We were probably there for 45 minutes. It was just my DH and myself and I was glad we didn't have children to shuffle around. It would have been a bit difficult.

It is a great fund raiser for the schools of Celebration and one I have no problem supporting again.

(So, like, are we the only two Floridians here on the Dibb?)

There are a few....and a few from the UK that live here as well. I've only been back a couple of years myself but grew up here. DH is from London.

Wow, cool! I lived in Florida all my life before, moved up to DC for seven really awful years and now I am back home, never to leave again. :)

I did almost emigrate to England once a long time ago, though, and for numerous reasons it will always have a very special place in my heart. Visited England but only the northern bits (landed in and left from Manchester) -- have not yet seen London.

Please can someone tell me where abouts this sale is??

FLGirl-UKNow

The sale is in the GYM of the K-8 school in the Celebration neighborhood. They have signs on the side of the road directing you towards the sale but I can tell you that all you need to do is turn into Celebration drive through the town center area and the school will be on your right. Again, they will have signs posted so you'll have no problem finding it.

There isn't any new news to report other than the Great American Pie Festival and the Exotic Car Show will be held at Celebration the same weekend as the liquidatio sale so you could quite possibly make a day of it.

My brother plas in a jazz band and they have played at the pie festival several years running and his family always has a good time.

Pie Festival Info (http://www.piecouncil.org/great.htm)

Exotic Car Info (http://www.celebrationexoticcars.com/)

I had planned on going Friday night but I think I'll wait until Saturday so I can see the cars. Be prepared for larger crowds because of this and parking might be a bit of a challenge but the savings at the sale and the festivals can be a nice day out.
