Frequent virgin club question [Archive]

I have just booked a holiday with virgin to st Lucia, I got 10% discount as I am a flying club member (virgin atlantic) and free entry to the Vroom, but I was told that I couldn't get any of the frequent virgin club benefits, Does anyone know if this is true? We really wanted the overnight stay at the airport hotel as we fly at 9.30 am.

I think it is only certain routes - ie not holiday routes. Presume it is to attract business customers?

Sorry don't want to hi-jack the thread but have I got this right, if you have a card (red) to collect miles with Virgin Atlantic you can get 10% off Virgin holidays, so you could loose the 10% and have the other benifits that the frequent Virgin club offer? I hope I have explained my self properly

you dont get 10% off and frequent virgin benefits. you can have either 10% off with VA flying club membership OR 10% off with your VH frequent virgin club membership OR you give up your 10% off with the VH frequent virgin club forever ,and take one of the other benefits,ie free parking or free hotel stay etc.but its only 1 benefit you can have ,not combining 1 from one card and 1 from another

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I think I got a bit confused because when we got our frequent virgin card you got 10% discount but they don't seem to do that now you get different benefits,I think I would prefer to get the 10% dscount.

as long as you havent given up your 10% off with the frquent virgin club you can still have it,but once youve taken one of the other offers of free parking,hotel or limo you can never have the 10% again.to be honest the 10% is normally the best option but everyone gets that with the VA membership so cant really see much benefit in the VH scheme anymore
