Anyone been to Cuba?

I am thinking of booking a hols to Cuba next year looking at Varadero. can anyone recommend any hotels. I have looked at one hotel Iberostar Varadero has anyone stayed here?

Hi weve booked to go to the IBV april 26th for 12 nights, been reading lots of reviews and it seems to come out better than all the other inclusives on Varadero beach! It cost approx £700 more for this hotel but Tripadvisor has it down as the No1 hotel in Cuba on a percentage of good reviews basis!(I must say it looks stunning in the pics!)
My only problem is I will dearly miss Mickey this year (been for the last 3 years), oh well, at least we will be able to relax this time!!
First Choice were doing a great deal, we got the last Junior suite avail!
Upgraded to premiere class flights for £60.00 each (normally £220-300 each)

Thanks for that. I too saw it on Trip Advisor and saw all the great reviews.

You will have to do a trip report and let me know if itlives up to the expectations. I must admit I do like Iberostar Hotels we stayed in one last year in Mexico and it was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in.

And what a great deal on the upgraded seats.

we went to cuba on our first holiday when i met my now hubbie it was 13 years ago now. cuba was lovely very quiet when we went.
i love the cuban bear dont normally like beer !
we stayed near havan a great little town. wen ton a coupl eof excursions one to a waterfall which was lovely.
cant remember name of hotel but i would recomend cuba its very different place not busy and nice friendly people .

Looking forward to it, I love cuban cigars too so thats a big bonus! Still cant help wishing we'd have done Orlando again but I suppose a year off wont kill us!! ;)
