Hi,

I would like to take my son to Busch Gardens. As we won't be hiring a car, can anyone tell me if the buses that take you to Busch Gardens load wheelchairs on the bus, or do they fold them up and put them underneath in the baggage compartment. Also, do I have to tell them about the wheelchair when I phone to book a pick up?

Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, i'd just like to know what to expect at the pick up spot.

Thanks in advance
Julie

Our DS has a wheelchair but isn't able to transfer and climb the steps into the bus (it's a coach type vehicle so a few steps up) We called a few days ahead to book the shuttle and they laid on a wheelchair accessible minivan just for us. We had a lovely driver who gave us loads of tips and got us back safely through the horror of hurricane Dennis which hit the Gulf coast earlier than predicted on the day we were at Busch. Absolutley first class service and all for free.

I think if you were able to get onto the bus they would load the wheelchair underneath in the luggage compartment, that's where they put buggies.

Thanks so much for the information. My son is able to climb a few steps, he uses the wheelchair for mobility as he can't walk too far without having to rest, so putting the wheelchair in the luggage compartment should be fine.

thanks again
