Hello all
DP and I have almosy got enough Tesco vouchers and nectar card points to get free eurostar travel to DLP. I have only been once before - stayed at the Newport Bay in 2001 and Karen has stayed at Sequoia Lodge and Cheyenne I think.
For this trip I know what we (I) want....
Nice hotel with Disney magic / theming
Character greetings - especially with Minnie :inlove:
Swimming pool
On-site accommodation
Restaurants where I can get some semblance of veggie food.
I am considering the Sequoia Lodge which seems to get favourable reviews and not be too over priced.
We also want to go at a quiet-ish time (possibly early summer, mid week). Any suggestions?
Finally, I want to have at least one character meal with Minnie (yes I know I am in my 30s but she is such a lovely mouse! ) Where would you recommend?
Is there a good guide book out there that covers all of this kind of stuff?
Thanks for your help

For a meal with Minnie I'd recommend Cafe Mickey or The Lucky Nugget.
The Rainforest Cafe had some nice veggie options on food.
This is a good guide book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brits-Guide-Disneyland-Resort-Guides/dp/0572031793
The Seq lodge is a nice hotel close enough to walk bust still quiet enough. Only thing with pool is it's outside the main building in it's own building.
May/early June is a nice quiet time to visit and we prefer Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat for lack of Queues (Sat and Sun are busy all year round)
Hope that helps. (DLRP is one of my fave places
If you nearly have enough for eurostar with airmiles, try finding out how much flights are. We went for the flights as were the same costing for the 3 of us.
That probably didn't make sense. Basically, we were saving up tesco clubcard points to change for airmiles to book eurostar. When we looked in to it, it was the same amount of airmiles for the 3 of us to go by plane instead.
We went last year and went to Cafe Mickey which was fab, but didn't see Minnie there.
saw Minnie at the Lucky Nugget and interaction was superb.
We are going to DLP on 10 June for 2 nights, and flying from Cardiff (or Rhoose Airport as I still think of it!) so maybe we'll see you!
Had you thought about flying from Cardiff, or is Eurostar part of the fun for you? I love Eurostar and as we live in London it's normally easier for us to get to Paris that way. But in June we'll be with my parents in Llantwit Major, so Cardiff was easiest to go from (with Flybe - we got a pretty good price on flights).

Thanks for all of your tips. We don't yet know when we will be able to go although early June might be a possible depending on circumstances. I will make a note of those 2 eateries for Mouse stalking.
We may take your advice and look at flights but I do quite fancy trying Eurostar as I have never been on it before.
I'm very excited already

The Eurostar is great as it takes you straight into the parks and you can then have you luggage taken to your hotel whilst you go straight into the parks. :d: :d: We have stayed at
The Santa Fe: we just didn't like it, it was like a rugny scrum for breakfast.
The New York: we loved this hotel we have stayed there twice. There are always plenty of characters wandering round and the rooms are beautiful.

If you really want to stay in the magic and you can have a character breakfast everyday then stay at The Disneyland Hotel - it is beautiful!! I have stayed there twice.
Also a great guide book is "The Brits Guide to Disneyland Parsi Resort" - I think the new book is out for 08/09.
June is quite a nice time go first 2 weeks.
We have been by Eurostar 3 times and it is the best way to go.

We've done Davy Crockett, Sequoia Lodge and Disneyland Hotel. Of the three the Disneyland Hotel is the best experience - character breakfast each day, easy access to the parks and so relaxing in the hotel. It has it's own indoor pool as well. Actually in th estage of planning a quick visit in June before the main trip to Florida in August
I love Eurostar - so easy, no faffing about checking in luggage and waiting for it. And it shouldn't be too difficult for you, coming into Paddington.

We have just been to Disney Paris and we had breakfast and lunch at Cafe Mickey, we found that there was more characters out at the lunch and they stayed out longer and Minnie was there, although lunch was a bit expensive but we enjoyed it as well as the children
