adobe after effects,supported file types ?

Hi all, adobe after effects dosent seem to lke any video files we have here.
Does anyone know what file types are supported, as the help file dosent help :-)

I use DV AVI files with After Effects but I'm not sure which other file formats it will take. Wish you luck with it though, it's a challenging programme!

Got this for DS (16), So once we have some AVI files will let him loose with it.
