View Full Version : DVD Auth software
Having finally got myself a Dual layer DVD writer i need a decent piece of software that will allow me to create menus, sub menus, importing my own videos, back grounds and music (if required)
I do have Ulead videostudio 10 but having no end of problems trying to create my own menus, and sub menus. it has a mind of its own.
I used My DVD a while ago but its to out of date now.
what would you recommend please.
Whether you use Windows XP or Vista will have a bearing. I use ULEAD DVD Workshop which only runs on XP.

I'm not sure if its decent or not, but I use Adobe Premiere Elements that came with Photoshop. I thought it was quite good :thumbs-up, but I've not had much experience of it and haven't used many. Just thought I'd mention it though.

Not a professional package but it suits my needs I use plain old windows movie maker. It was on the laptop preinstalled and allows me to do DVDs of home movies mixed with photos.

We use Pinnacle Studio for ours but the package we bought to allow us to also include analogue wasn;t very cheap.

Is that Workshop 2?
Does it do dual layer and 5.1 sound?

Yes, it does both. It's a bit flaky on the burning side so, I create an ISO image and burn from that. It is Workshop 2.

Yes, it does widescreen. By "flaky", I mean it can crash or hang during the final process of burning. I've used it for 3/4 years now and, to be fair, I don't have this issue any longer as I don't use it for burning. I create my DVD, save it as an ISO or DVD image then burn it using other software. Have a look on the ULEAD site, it gives you a fair amount of detail on the software. If you register with ULEAD, you can access their forum. Although I haven't been on the ULEAD forum in over 2 years, I can remember there were posts about the burning issue with DWS 2. Despite all the complaints on the forum, I've been using it successfully and recently produced a DL multi menu DVD that was around 4 hours in length.
