SeaWorld Orlando announced that they will raise ticket prices by $2 beginning Friday, making SeaWorld the priciest attraction in Orlando. The park announced that it's raising ticket prices, making it Orlando's priciest attraction.
It will cost $53.95 plus tax for adults, and $44.95 plus tax for children.
The marine park raised the ticket price by $2 a year ago, but has since added five acres of waterfront dining, shopping and entertainment. Its the park's largest expansion ever, and the company said more additions are on the way.
SeaWorld, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando often adjust their ticket prices at about the same time. But the other parks didn't say whether they would also increase their entry costs.
A Disney spokesman says the park's pricing decisions are independent of the market's other parks.

I was just thinking this when I read this news.
It's ironic that the new owners of Cypress Gardens attributed it's downfall to high ticket prices and are looking at re-opening with more realistic pricing structure.
I wonder what the percentage of people pay for single day tickets at the gate. I'm guessing that most purchase multiday tickets.

If they are still doing the 2nd day free, its not too bad, but the annual pass is only $89.95, (2yr pass is $134.95), which is good value for multiple trips.
We have the 2 year pass that includes Busch too. We worked out we have already broken even after two and a half days at Seaworld and a day at Busch last year when we bought them and then this got us half price tickets for Sea World San Diego last year for 2 days.
Any more visits we make this April will all be free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You also get discounts on food, shopping and tours + free parking which means you can just nip in when you are passing (or while the DG is shoe shopping) , see a Shamu, Dolphin or firework show and then go again. Its also a nice place to spend the last morning before flying home.
I love Seaworld...........

We love seaworld but the kids price is way over the top.Our 3 year old had to pay almost the Adult price last year but part of the kids playground was closed and of course he could not enjoy the two big rides-hardly an attractive prospect for families on a budget.
Talking of Sea World, how busy does it get on public holidays? I'm going to be in Orlando over Martin Luther King weekend (MLK day is Monday Jan 19th) and I want to avoid the disney parks due to their likelihood of being very busy, but how about Sea World on the 19th?
Sea World never really gets heaving and because you can sit down and wait for the shows to start rather than queue for everything you don't feel so worn out. Just make sure you get to each of the shows atleast 20 minutes before start time if its busy and you will get a seat. Queues for Kraken and Atlantis can get big so best do them early in the day and then again later in the evening. Even at Easter and Xmas its still a very enjoyable stress free day, especially compared to MK!!!
