View Full Version : Looking for inspiration :o)
I have about 55000 Virgin Atlantic frequent flyer miles to spend and would like to go away somewhere for DH birthday 21/11/08. I think I may have had my fill of Orlando for a while but am nervous about going somewhere else so wondered if anyone had any ideas.
There will just be the the two of us and he's happy to drive over there.
Any tips or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!! oh, ps it's a secret surprise so shhhhh! lol

Had your fill of Orlando are you insane?
Had your fill of Orlando are you insane?
LOL I know that sounds daft but went for the fourth year running in Feb (lucky old me I know) and am not very well travelled so I feel I should see somewere else. Was thinking that Miami would be good and a bit different but not sure of the ins and outs.
Also though New York would be great but have also posted on non-Florida trip planning to get any other ideas.
Why not do Disney Californ I.A.? You could do Disney, Hollywood, LA and the glitz then take a short flight (or long drive) to Vegas .. helicopter over the Grand Canyon, a few cents on the machines.
OR
Donate them to me and I'll do it all for you!

Hi,
as its just 2 adults, and you are looking to go in November, then how about Las Vegas - the Disneyland for adults.
Me and my boyfriend went last June for my boyfriends birthday and had a blast. I even booked a helicopter and champagne trip over the Grand Canyon for his actual birthday which was great.
Ot how about Dubai - I've not been personally but its definitely on my list for somewhere soon, and I know November would be a great time to go temperature wise.

Head to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Key Largo and Key West.
Further enough away from Orlando to keep your minds off the temptations, but also close enough in case you just fancy a few days :pgig: :pgig: :pgig:
We did Orlando, Key Largo, Key West and Fort Lauderdale in 2005 and it was a marvellous trip.
Aside from that a loop of Boston, New York and Philadelphia would be good, or even better being able to include Washington DC (a must see) in the itinerary.
How long were you planning? If it's just a short break and you want to see a great city, Washington DC is your place. Awesome, and mostly free.

I can't believe what I'm hearing , had your fill of Florida ???? I'd love to be able to go back. ;)
If we could go somewhere else in US we'd fly to Boston in the fall and drive up through New England to see the leaves changing colour, there are supposed to be some amazing B&B's (don't think they call them that in US) to stay in along the way. Then head up to Cape Cod, go out whale watching ........ nice dream ....... now back to work.
