We visited there for a day trip a few years ago., when we were staying in Lanzarote. It was VERY hot. We went shopping and spent the afternoon on the beach, which was fantastic, and not the dark volcanic sand on lanzarote. We also got to ride a camel. As it was only for the day we didn't get to see much else, but I know you can visit Lanzarote for the day as well.

went in late oct/nov and weather was lovely although it goes dark early 5-6 ish

we stayed in Corralejo at northern end of the island- a fishing village with lots of seafood restaurants and a waterpark on the outskirts

never went to costa calma-thats in the south if I remember rightly
but sure its nice-the island seemed quieter than Lanzarote(been there too)

I really loved this Island . Did not stay at your resort. It generally is less comercial than the other canary Islands. The beach nearby was a national park and it is the most beautiful I have ever been on and the sand is golden.
:)
They also have a water park but we went in February so it wasn't open. We enjoyed riding on camels and I think there is a zoo aswell although we never visited.

You will have a lovely chilled out time!!!

We went to Fuerteventura last year and drove through Costa Calma - didn't seem like there was much there. If you do go, I would recommend a car - the island is really easy to drive on and we would have been bored without it (we had 10 days in caleta de fuste) Here is a good site about the island:
