View Full Version : Flying Club Question
Hi, does anyone know if you can donate Virgin Atlantic Miles to another Flying Club member? I know you can donate them to charity but what about between yourselves?
Thanks in advance.

I have used my miles to buy a ticket for my son, I don't think you can donate to make up someone elses account though.
I am sure EGG will know exacltly.
You can buy miles to make up any shortfall to a limit of 19,000 miles per year

The answer is no, see the relevant question here on the Virgin FAQ site.

If you have enough miles you can purchase awards for a 3rd party but that's it.

Maybe!

Thanks for that Jakey - DH, DD & I each have unused miles and they are due to expire next year. I made enquiries about transferring them to my HHonors account but you can only transfer a minimum of 10,000 and then increments of 5,000 at a time. None of us have as many as 10,000 but collectively we have 20,000.
If it had been possible to combine our Miles on my account I could have then transferred them to my HHonors account (if you see what I mean!).
If I am not able to combine them on my account then we will have to purchase more Miles to keep the accounts active, just not sure when we will be able to use them, what a pain :(

There are many ways to keep your miles active, one transaction (spending or earning) on your account keeps the miles for another three years.
See hear for some more info.

Anything from petrol, car hire, hotels, virgin wine etc can keep the account active.

I'm gonna sound really thick now but what are Air Miles? I've just seen them on my Virgin tickets. I have over 6000. I understand that you can put them towards flys and upgrades ECT. But you book with say Virgin and First Choice and combined them?
Many thanks
