Southampton Airport Taxis

Anyone got any tips I want to pick up and drop off a taxi at Southampton International, looking for a reasonable rate, one of the firms I tried had an excess of 600 which seems excessive to me?

To go to and from where?

I have never had to have an excess for using a company to take us to airport

Ahhh no it doesnt let you compare and the excess for that one is £400!

Thanks for that simonandmarcie, does 400 not seem excessive, that was really my point, I have never hired a car in England before so I just wanted some input?

I think it is alot but i suppose it is goin to be more than a normal car insurance. I hired a car once around here and dont think the excess was anywhere near that.

Where are you staying when you come over?

we are probably going to stay in windsor, it is a long story why we are flying into Southampton. I have only hired cars in US and RSA before and the excess has never been that much, and they usually have an option to pay extra for no insurance in my experience
