View Full Version : Advice: Waterparks with under 5's - are they ok?
 Hi everyone. Just a quick question on whether Waterparks are a good idea with 2 x DS (2) and (5)? Typhoon Lagoon is probably our most likeliest visit (although we have Aquatica tickets more out of curiousity than anything else).
I'm interested in recommendations on toddler areas within Waterparks (i've read about Ketchi-kiddy creek something or other in Typhoon Lagoon, but would prefer 1st hand experiences than ad blurb).
Ta muchly,

We stick to the kiddie areas, ketchykiddie creak or Tykes Peak. My girls preferred tykes peak which has mini versions of water slides. Kethchkiddie creak is more sandy and a river and there is water squirting around (which my eldest really didn't like when she was little)

My 4 year old loved BB and we would take him a couple of times to the teen bit, though you cant relax as much there as you have to stay glued to them because its deeper. We tried Wet and Wild as we had free tickets via Universal and we werent expecting much as it wasnt that good when i was here a few years ago. It isnt as nice looking and doesnt have staff as "have a nice day" standard as the disney parks but ds loved the kiddy bit as it was that little bit more daring than BB but still only just above his knees. We obviously kept a close eye on him but it really boosted his confidence to be on rope drops and different slides and he felt very grown up.

I would imagine its hard work with little ones having to watch them all the time ,I am a bit paranoid about water and small children
Looking forward to Taking DDs 4 and 2 to Blizzard beach been highly recommended.

My DW and DD (now almost 3) prefer BB. We went there twice last year during our 3 weeks in March (TL re-opened in our final week). One of our days was Mother's Day (UK) so DW was allowed to sit in the sun allday!
We liked to get there early so we can get a decent spot in Tykes Peak. Once we were actually first in the carpark. Great picture, one car, empty carpark. lol

both of the disney parks can provide you with a life vest  and there were so many life gaurds in BB they are all so friendly too helping out in any way that they can
although i think its always a good thing to extra cautious around the water
