just returned from our second trip to DLP and the highlight of my trip last year was our meal at the blue lagoon, the atmosphere and the food and the special jigsaw pudding for the children, it was all wonderful and i couldnt wait to go back again.

our last night (i had booked the table in months advance) we arrived and got a table right by the water, so far so good. then they bought out the childrens menus :confused2 the same as the menus all round the park, where was the originality gone? the same mickey head shaped plates, the same pasta option, burger option and fish options that we had in walts the day before. and most importantly the special mickey chocolate jigsaw you make and then paint with food colouring and then eat, desert was nowhere to be found. the kids were devastated as they had been really looking forward to it all.

the food was ok, not as nice as last year, the service was wonderful, couldnt fault them :) unfortunatly the swordfish dh and i had made both of us ill the next day :( but the major disappointment was the total lack of diversity for kids food thru the park. i have two reasonably easy eaters, not too picky, but there is only so many ways you can dress up pasta and tomatoes before they get really really bored of it.

blue lagoon 2007 11/10 best meal out ever
blue lagoon 2008 6/10 disappointing, choices limited, horrendously expensive ( which you dont mind if its a special meal) and boring boring boring for the kids.

i agree,we booked for here recently, but it was the kids menu that put me off,we evenyually ate in rainforest cafe which was great.it was the same in florida on the ddp,we ordered off menu for ds 6 at times as the kids menu was boring after 14 days.i incorporated some buffets for variety. mo.

I haven't been to DLP for a few years, but on the whole I have never been very impressed with the kids food choices or the vegetarian ones.

We tend not to bother with the kids meals and order something they like on the main menu and either ask for a small portion or get them to share an adults portion.
