Java error message

For some reason there is an error message coming up saying that this has not been enabled when I log onto certain sites eg bt mail?! I have gone into tools etc and checked the necessary but it still does not seem to be working. Any advice anyone please

Check your security settings are not on HIGH.

Also check any firewall software is not set to block java.

Sorry - a bit thick here - how do I check the firewall software?

BTW I have gone through Internet Explorer instead of BT and everything is fine

Would you believe I have gone back onto BT and everything is ok!
