Ok, so I just decided on Nacosses on our wedding meal in 2010
( I know long way off but just can not resist planning)
there will be about 12 of us two who will be 4 and 5 when we go.
Anyway I decided on this place but have since seen some bad reviews about this place, so would just like other views,
I understand everbody likes differant things, I actually liked the Ponderoser breakfast we had  .

We ate there last year and liked it - quite an "upscale" feel, and they treated the kids in a grown-up way.

The only thing I would say is that it has quite a quiet atmosphere and it probably wouldn't suit a "lively" group!!

Thanks for that, could anybody help suggest a suitable but nice place to eat suitable for such an occasion.

we ate there last year and had a lovely meal , one of the best we had , we are going again this year, there were lots of children in there including my own ! It is a beautiful setting and so lovely to walk outside to the pontoon to watch the fireworks, loved it!

It's not my favourite restaurant, but it's still good. The Wishes music/theme is piped into the restaurant speakers and you can see MK across the water, it's all very nice.

Actually, just to add, if you're looking to pick one special restaurant for an occasion I don't recommend Narcoosees. There are other, better places to eat in both food and atmosphere terms. Narcoosees is great as "just one of the X places you're eating on a holiday", but I wouldn't chose it to have my last meal in!

:D It's a wedding, not a funeral!!!

Where would you suggest then?

One idea I had:
There is a room at the end of California Grill that is glass walled off from the rest of the restaurant - I *think* they referred to it as the library, although it was nothing like a library. It had big windows looking out towards Wilderness Lodge.

From memory, the room had maybe 4 or 5 tables and probably sat around 20, so it might not be possible to get the room to yourself, but *if* you could then I think that would be very cool.

Clare & I ate there last December and did not have a good meal at all. It was quite a noisy place. The food in our case was very over seasoned and I had to return mine to the kitchen - thankfully they didn't charge me. The food that Clare was served, was supposed to be gluten free, but it wasn't and she was very unwell that night. We both felt that the service was not very good - especially for a top restaurant. It is not a Disney owned restaurant.

To be honest I would not go back there again.

Just to echo what Jane said, we didn't have a good experience at Narcoosees I'm afraid, although others love it, it's a very subjective matter but all I know is I was given a non gluten free meal and was very unwell. Also, it's quite 'loud' there, as the floors are all wooden and it's open plan.

If you're after something a little quieter then the little room you refer to at the California Grill, known as the Wine Room, is fab - we ate there a few years ago and it was a really nice atmosphere away from the main restaurant.

There's also the Blue Zoo at the Dolphin (fantastic restaurant) - it has a private dining room just off from the main restaurant, but not so far away that you feel 'out of it'.

Weird that - we thought it was very quiet! (and it was pretty full, too).

Ah - you're right! That's the room I was referring to - I was trying to remember why they referred to it a library when I couldn't remember any books!! It was the wine room.

The main open part of the California Grill by the way - now that *was* noisy!!

Am I right in thinking that you have to enter the magic kingdom to get to the california grill? I am wanting to stay in my dress and I know
I can not enter any park in my dress

I would try for Chef's Domain at Citrico's at the GF. It's a private room just off the main dining area with a huge table in. I'm sure it seats up to 12. The food is wonderful and the service you will get will be impeccable. We've eaten in there several times and never been disappointed. There is a minimum spend to dine there (think it's $750). I'm sure you will be able to wear your dress too.

California Grill is at the Contemporary - so you would still be able to wear you dress.

We ate there last July for my Mum's birthday, and it was fantastic. I think most places are subjective, so if you like the menu, I'd go for it. Its a lovely restaurant

I agree with checking out the menus and it being a subjective thing. I thought long and hard about eating at Narcoossees - but after a menu comparison, thought it very 'fish heavy' which would not suit my party, so opted for the California Grill instead.

Hi Tracey, :wavey:

If it helps at all we are getting married in May and have booked Narcoossee's for our wedding meal. There will be 8 of us including my two boys and I will be wearing my dress. Although I am not a huge seafood lover I still prefered the menu to California Grill which I found a bit confusing!! The main reason that I picked this restaurant is that the setting is supposed to be fab and we will be able to watch the fireworks over the castle after our meal, which will hopefully be the end to a perfect day. I have waited a long long time for this so the fireworks seemed so appropriate!! When I return (18th May) please PM me so that I can let you know what the food and atmosphere was like and then it might help you make up your mind, I spent months looking!

Have Fun

Hi thanks for that, I will remember to PM you to see what you thought, I too have been waiting long enough for this and we are finally getting it booked for a time when we think our two girls will be old enough to go

I am sure that you are like me, very excited and want it all to be perfect and it will be. My main problem has been that I have had to keep it a secret from all my friends as other half did not want everyone to come too as he is scared stiff of talking in front of people! I am having a huge party to celebrate my 40th when we return and surprise everyone then which will be great!

Enjoy your planning

Nickie

Hi, hubby to be is the same, he does not like talking in front of people, he was a bestman a few years ago and he spent all night in the bathroom as he was not looking forward to the speech, we are going to keep it informal in regards to saying a speech, we are going for a nice meal afterwards but Lee will not be making a speech.

I got married at the Yacht Club last year and we had our Wedding Meal at the Yachtsmans Steakhouse - I found that it was lovely. We have a party of 14 including 2 kids aged 11 months and 7 years and it was fine.

The staff made a reaaly big fuss of us and I was wearing my wedding dress during the meal. I would recommend it to anyone.

Also...you can watch the fireworks at EPCOT from the lighthouse - it is lovely there and a nice way to end your Wedding Day!!
