We love Perkins. On our first visit we made the mistake of ordering 6 eclairs which were so huge that we had to have a doggy bag to take them away and it took us a couple of days to eat them!! We only found Perkins a couple of years ago along with Bob Evans. Both are comparable price wise to Dennys and to Golden Corral. They do standard American diner style food - it's very good, loads of choice. Perkins have pies and desserts to die for.
They are very good with children.

Perkins is fab! Their pancakes are (probably) the best in the world. Breakfast for 5 was $40 to give you an idea, and that was a big breakfast!

We also love Perkins and have our last breakfast there before returning home I always have the blueberry waffle with loads of cream and my hubby has steak and eggs, Yum Yum.
We have never had breakfast there but have had dinner. It was really nice, I had a salad which I couldn't finish as it was so big. The desserts are to die for. We brought a whole apple pie to tack back to the villa with us for only $11 is was so scrummy :d:

Think it depends on the restaurant. We had two very different experiences at Perkins last time:
Perkins on the 27 - Fantastic service fantastic food, highly recommended, helped by the server who liked to tell us she'd been working there for about 100 years everytime she came to our table! :d: I can't remember exactly but I'm sure she was telling everyone to call her 'gran' or something like that.
Perkins on the 192 - terrible service, worst of the entire holiday, food was ok. Won't ever return to this one, it was such a massive contrast to the 27 one.
A couple of holidays back we went to the one on the 192 quite a few times and really enjoyed it. I guess it's changed management since then as the staff there right up to the manager really didn't care and couldn't be bothered with serving anyone. Had to wait about 10 minutes before they even took the drinks order and a lot longer for them to come back for the food order.

Try the one on the corner of Int.Drive and Sandlake Road, really clean and the staff are friendly. Very reasonable with the prices, usually about $40 for the 4 of us. It was refurbished whilst we were there in December 07, so everything should still be gleaming !

Which one on the 192 are you referring too? The one in Eastgate (at Poinciana) or the one in Westgate (by Bob Evans)?
We've generally found Perkins consistent across much of Florida.

Perkins is pretty good - big breakfast for two is about $20-25. The coffee is disappointing, but I still drink loads. The pancakes are nice, but they are American pancakes and so far from being the best in the world; I don't think you can beat a solid, greasy, buttery, lemony British pancake.

I've got fond memories of the westgate 192 Perkins.
On my first ever visit to orlando in 2001 we ate breakfast at Perkins. The waitress was a little old women, like a homely grandma, wandering around with a coffee pot. I remember thinking at the time it was just like something from american tv!
I was 18 at the time, and ordered a stack of 5 pancakes, thinking they would be small. Wrong! I barely managed 3 of them, and my sister struggled much the same with hers.
Along with our bill the waitress handed my mum a white bag containing 5 huge cookies free of charge. She said "something for the kids to eat later in case they get hungry" because we'd left some of our huge breakfast!
We still talk about that now. Both for the excellent service, and the fact that I was considered a kid at 18 :)

Perkins is our favourite breakfast place. There's always a great atmosphere and we always visit several times during our stay. It's great value for money and the food is always really good. We don't have lunch in the parks when we've had breakfast at Perkins as their portion sizes are huge so it lasts us all day. Children get a large cookie at the end (when ordering a children's meal), last year our eldest son ordered from the adult menu but our waitress 'sneeked' a cookie to him so he didn't feel left out which I thought was really kind. I would highly recommend a visit. :spin:

The one by Bob Evans is a concession and let out by Perkins! That is why the standards have gone down since it happened. It helps to know the manager of our favourite one in Crossraods!! ;)

The one by Bob Evans. A few years back it was one of our favourites, now it's one we'll never return to - there's plenty of excellent places to eat and we won't be wasting one of our meals at this one again. We usually stay on the 27 and I'd rather drive right past this one, past the villa and further down the 27 to the other Perkins.
