Hi all
Was thinking of buying the universal express plus pass for our day at IoA. We are thinking of going on the 31/07/2008, which is a thursday and know it will be a very busy day. :(
Has anyone used this pass before and were they worth it? For a family of 4 I was quoted at $150. Never went to this park last time and really want to enjoy it but know that in July the park will be choka block. :spin:
Any advice most appriciated
Thanks
Kevin

Try booking a night at HRH. You get Express passes for two days (the day you check in and the day you check out) and you get to stay in one of the best hotels in Orlando. We try and do this every trip now. You will need express passes in July!

I'd book a night at a Universal hotel - you get Front of the line access for 2 days.
The express pass only works once for each ride.

We went last November and although not theat busy the xpress passes where one of the best things we purchased on our hols.
And yes you should only be able to use them once on each ride but we found that most rides didnt stamp the card and as long as you didnt go straight back with the same attendant they didnt notice.. the kids did the hulk 3 times and spiderman 4 times... express each time!
Bite the bullet.

So if you stay at the hrh you get express passes, not park entry? We're staying in a villa with family but thought me and Hubby could sneek off for a night and leave the kids with the grandparents! But i guess we would meet up with them at park and wouldn't skip queues because wouldn't want to leave kids behind queing! Is it worth going just for the experience?

You pay for the room not the people, so you could check-in with them on the first day to get the FOTL for everyone and drop them off at the villa at night.
You could then meet up with them next day.
Do a dummy booking here and see.

November is a quiet time usually.
Last July they were very strict on everything except Dr Doom for us.
I wouldn't bank on getting more than one go in the peak times of July and August.

I would say they are def worth it. We went end of July/beg of august. We even managed to to US and IOA in one day. If we did not have the express passes we would not have been able to do that. I know the passes only work once for each rde but if there is a ride that you really want to do again you can always Q for it again. I dont know the price of HRH so you would have to price it up and way the costs up. Either way the passes will be a great benefit!

Book the room for all of you - the price will be the same, and then even though only you and hubby actually stay, you will all get FOTL.

Although we have also booked a night in HRH this year, we bought the express passes several times last year in July and got to ride everything more than once apart from the Mummy in Studios and The Hulk and (funnily enough) Cat in the Hat in IoA.
I think it just depends on the attendant you run into.
But I have to say to pricewise, it definitely works out better booking a night in HRH even if you don't use the room !
Like everyone else says i would book a night in the hotel and get unlimited FOTL access for 2 days , it is much more cost effective. Some people do it and don't even use the room at all !

Have to agree with Princess Fiona, they are well worth the money!!! :thumb: We were there the same time end of July/Aug 07, in fact the day we purchased then in the park, the US kids hols had just finished so we got them for half price anyway :pgig: You can do so much more with the Express tickets. The only thing is I wish it was like Disney and you didn't have to pay Extra for them! :(

Totally agree with booking hotel. We are staying in a villa too but have also booked one night in a room that holds five for $250. That gives two days FOTL passes in July, compared to spending $250 for one day Express Pass which may only be used once per ride (in theory).
