Hiya I am trying to figure out what we will have time to do when we go next year.....

DS1 will be 8 DD will be 6 and DS2 will be 2 1/2 and DH & I...

I want to do all the disney maybe just the waterparks once each 1/2 day.

Seaworld 1 or 2 days
Discovery cove
Kennedy (dh & ds1 LOL)and maybe an airboat ride

Character breakfast and dinner (different days)

So will we have time to do anything else? Dh wants to do US and maybe IOA but I dont think we will have time and am not sure there will be enough for the kids to do at them and I have to have a couple of days to shop!

HELP all you experienced dibbers....

Hiya!

Its our first time in November and i was wondering the same. I really don't know where to start to be honest!LOL My kids will be DS1 - 9, DS2 - 7 and DS3 will turn 3 while we are there!

We are definately doing all the Disney parks, I would love to do Discovery cove but its alot of money to pay for the boys and DH when they aren't all that interested and I wouldn't want to go on my own so think that may be out!

DH wants to do the Simpsons Ride etc at Universal but I don't see how we can fit all the disney in and do things like Character meals, shopping days and water parks also?

Any advice would be great too?LOL

Thanks guys - and sorry for hijacking your post!

I am soo excited its unreal and become a bit of a dibbaholic!LOL

I think you need to write down the stuff you definitely want to do and things you may do. I find every 3rd day I have as a rest day ie. water park/shopping etc. Write a plan of what your planning on doing but be flexible with yourself. I think one day at Seaworld would be enough. You could have your character breakfast and dinner on a day when you would be at a disney park anyways. I think you'll fit everything in with a little planning.

when the 4 of us went 2 years ago we did all the disney parks and IoA, US, wet'n'nwild and seaworld. Found it tiring but enjoyable. go for it. :d: :d:

We are very different from a lot of people on the dibb as we do not have rest days. It is very tiring, but we can sleep when we get home. If you aren't too worried about lots of rest days, I would say that you could fit in US/IOA as well. There are definitely lots of fun things for your children to do there.

If I was you I would stick to what you have on your list as you will find it very tiring with little ones, if when yu are there you have a spare day then you could just pay on the door at universal.

I think that with the age of your children you have already go enough to do! They will get tired ours did, and will want water fun so water parks are a good idea but we found that we spent a lot longer in WDW and Seaworld than expected.

Thank you! I did think that we could pay on the door if we had a free day but is there anything for the kids to do or IF we get a free day or should I just send DH?

I was thinking every 3rd day as a rest/shopping/waterpark day....

And do you think it would be too much to have a character breakfast the morning after we get there? or should we leave it for another day?

I thought when we had the character dinner then we could go in the park later to have that then stay for the fireworks...Are they every day? Or a different park every day?

:wave:Thank's

The morning after you get there is the perfect time to have a character breakfast because you will be awake with the larks, if not before them.

Have you got Aquatica included in your plans. You can get a Seaworld/Aquatica combo ticket for $80

i of a and universal are both great parks.lots of easy rides as well as a few thrill ones. there is a great water playground that all your kids should love take a change of clothes though.
the spiderman breakfast at i of a is great as well.

Sorry I'm still learning all the terms - what/where is IOA?
Thanks

IOA stands for Islands of Adventure. Its part of the universal group and is next to Universal Studies.

I think you need to make a list of the parks and things you really want to do take into consideration the proximity of the accomadfation you are staying in to the parks, and start with the nearest and we always leave magic kingdom till last.we find the build up to this is brill and leave the best till last, make sure you get lots of r and r around the pools and water parks withh your little ones

You've not said when you will be going? This makes a huge difference to what you can fit in, in the summer it is much busier, but the parks are open a lot longer.

I've not been with little ones, my DS was 10 the first time, but please don't try and get yours to over do it. You hear so many stories of kids melting down because they are so tired and the parents yelling at them to enjoy themselves or else. :erm:

We don't 'do' rest days either, plenty of time to sleep on the flight home. :d:

It is in the countdown lol but is 11th may 2009 plenty of time to plan and save! I shall need it too lol.....

Dont get me wrong I DO want to do everything incase we dont get to go back but dont want to wear them out either lol as we prob will start shouting

We go to butlins normally and dont stop the whole time but its only for a week compared to disney for 2 weeks...but maybe I will see how we go this year at butlins and how far we can go for! I do like an active holiday but not too much! :spin:

Doh, should have looked at your count down :o:

I've not been then, but most people say May is a great time to go.

Our first trip we managed all the Disney parks, both Universals, Sea World, Busch and NASA, but we missed the water parks and didn't get to see everything in Disney. This was in February when the parks were closed by 7-9pm most nights. As I said we had a 10 year old with us rather than a young one.

If they do the normal dawn to midnight madness at Butlins then you have them in good training, the only thing missing is the miles of walking in the parks. ;)

first time we went DD was 7 and DS10. We did all the disney parkt, Universal parks, TL, BB and Discovery Cove. We did not have rest days as such but we had days at the waterparks instead and a couple of shopping days. The year later we rested much more did not do DC but did Busch Gardens and spent more time by the pool in the villa.

Thats great then as it does sound like we can do it all just not so thoroughly (sp) and will stop dh moaning! He forgets he went 12 years ago and a lot is new since then plus we have our children and not all adults!

2 months till butlins then we can put into practice how much we can do! I cant wait for either lol..but think I might just buy a 1 day ticket for US and miss out IOA.

So would have
MK
AK
DC
EPCOT
DS
DTD
US
SEAWORD
BB & TL
1 character breakfast
1 character dinner
pirate/princess show or whatever it is next year
BBB

And I forgot kennedy! Well I think it will have to be US or KENNEDY we cant fit both in can we...as I think the kids will want to do MK more than once and probably seaworld.

God we will be busy and its going to cost us a fortune! But pil have said they will give us £300. for holiday so will buy some tickets with that.

Its doable then?... I gotta be able to shop too lol :pgig: will have to do that on BB & TL days!

Thanx everyone

Do all 4 Disney Parks,Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach,Universal's Island of Adventure and Seaworld.

I'd give Downtown Disney a miss and instead of Discovery Cove I'd stick to Seaworld because you can feed the dolphins there,Check out the feeding times and wait by the little hut to buy your fish (they'll sell out if you don't) Make sure someone keeps your place by the dolphins because people tend to crowd the area.

That's 8 days of your holiday gone there and you'll need a day for shopping too, you' don't want to miss the bargains believe me.

Then it's nice to spend a couple of days recovering by the pool from your busy schedule, you'll need it.There's always a temptation to do too much but sometimes it's just not possible!!

When your there you could always see how you feel and decide for yourself whether you want to do a day doing something else.I hope this helps,I've been 6 times so I'm speaking from experience.Good luck with whatever you decide to do as long as it's what I said. :D

Once at Seaworld is definitely enough but MK is probably somewhere you'd want to go back too. You'll probably need them extra day's you've booked lol.Don't for get Universal has 2 parks,I favour IoA because of the spiderman and Jurrasic Park rides and the kids area's area great too.Orlando can be exausting but it's fantastic and worth every penny,it's a place you want to go back to again and again.

Thank you! Your info has been very informative and I shall write it on my plan, now I have the extra days I will go for a 3 day 2 park ticket for universal as well. So is US not so good then compared to IOA?

We will be knackered when we come home eh! And all this exitement this early is BAD lol :d:

Universal Studios is a great park too,it's just the IOA is newer and some of the rides there are unbelievable,Spiderman will amaze you, honestly it's something else.

Just outside IOA is a Hard Rock Cafe and it's the perfect place to have your tea after a day in the park, while your food's on order you should have a look round that place aswell.Make sure you plan everything, write information down and always plan a waterpark or day off after a busy day in the park,if you have any day's off that is. :d:

Lots of research on each park and a well planned itinery will set you in good stead to get the main things in. You have plenty of time to enjoy the planning :spin:

Undercover tourist are great for cheap tickets, with the weak dollar
you get tickets are especially cheap as you get your tickets at the present dollar rate when you order, don't get them off the travel agent if you haven't already.

Also it's cheaper if you don't buy hopper tickets, here's an example that may suit you

5, 7 & 10 No Expiration-Day tickets available

Disney's Hollywood Studios™
Disney's Animal Kingdom®
Plus admissions to any of the "plus" parks:

Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex

I don't know whether anyone can do any better?

Don't under estimate how exhausting the heat is, we always try to do too much. It's got to be enjoyable so be prepared to rest some of the time, even if its just half a day here and there. The first year we just did Disney and last year we did Universal went to the coast (east and west). Our next visit will be Disney again.
