We are staying in the Radisson SAS - where would you recommend for breakfast?

Hi, we're staying at the Radisson SAS and have booked the breakfast in with our room. I think it cost another £8 each on top of our booking. I know if you book on the day it cost twice that

Other than that we have had breakfast at Garfunkels in terminal 1, but I think it is airside now, so not an option if you are travelling from another terminal.

Have never stayed there but I would recommend the hotel!!!!!!!!

Because the choices at the airport are terrible. We flew in August & paid an arm & a leg for 2 bacon sarnies for DD &DS & DH &I had just a coffee & croissant.

After security the best place is Starbucks but it isn't that big.

We wish we'd eaten at our hotel - Bewleys

The hotel deal we got (which was good) didn't include breakfast unfortunately. We will be flying from T2.

I wish we were staying in a hotel so that we could have the breakfast there. Unfortunately, as has been mentioned the breakfasts in the airport are extremely expensive, and as DW is a very nervous flyer, her food doesn't usually get eaten. Can you just go into the Radisson and pay for a breakfast, even if you haven't stayed there?

I am always too edgy to stay and eat at the hotel and prefer to know my bags have gone and we are through security so just get up shower and go straight to the terminal

I know what you mean there! We will be able to do OLCI, then bag drop early - then I was thinking of returning to the Radisson after that as it is linked to the terminal.

I have emailed Radisson to see what price they will give me. If it's their full price (which is about £17 each), then 'no way'!

We thought the airport choices were awful especially after security. I would recommed eating in the hotel

Don't eat in the airport - its terrible!!!! We've checked our bags in before & then gone to Bewleys Hotel - where breakfast is a lovely buffet -I think that they have details on their website.

As long as they aren't busy they will let you have breakfast there.

Add the breakfast onto your booking, its only £8 each and its a fantastic choice and a relaxing way to pass the time. We did bag drop and then back to the hotel, had breakfast overlooking the planes then back to our room for half and hour to fill out the waiver forms in peace and quiet before strolling back to departures. Wonderful way to start the holidays.

Can you cancel and book direct. I priced up various places and the Radisson direct was the cheapest. Alternatively ring the Radisson and explain that you have already booked a room through another company and want to add on the breakfast and pay on the day.

If the cost of breakfast in the hotel is £17, had you thought of booking the Escape lounge before flying and having Breakfat in there? It cost us £17.50 each last year but it was a calm, relaxing start to the journey and there was plenty of choices for eats. We had juice, cereal, croissants, fresh fruit & yoghurt, read the papers and just generally got away from the hustle & bustle for a while. If you have children I think under 8's are not usually allowed although there was a very well-behaved 5 year old in when we were there.

I tried a direct quote with Radisson several months ago but FHR was cheaper (for the rooms). I have emailed Radisson re breakfast but haven't heard back yet.

I was going to book escape but then heard stories of long security queues and thought it might not be worth it.

However, if we could bag drop at 6.30, then it would be worth it - what time can you go into the lounge for a 10.25 flight?

We stayed at the Radisson last year and didn`t have the breakfast as we had booked the Escape Lounge. When we wandered through and saw the security queues our hearts sank but we asked someone where the lounge was and she herded us through the fast line.
You are supposed to have 3 hours in the lounge till your flight leaves, we were on the 10.25 so it would have been 07.25 to get in.
We were there about 06.45 and she was really snotty on the door, but said she would let us in as she wasn`t busy. She`s not known for her friendlieness. But the lounge was lovely. food was fresh and plenty of choice.
We`ve booked the Radisson again this sept but we decide to book the Escape lounge again too as it was so pleasant. :wavey:

We also arrived early and were allowed in but the lady was quite nice - Thank Goodness.

If you wanted a really cheap breakfast, you could visit the Spa in T3. They do breakfast baguettes for between £2 - £2.60 and are surprisingly reasonable in quality.
