It's not a glitch on the site, it has been designed to work this way.

IF you use the quick reply then your reply is just added to the current page immediately and the page isn't refreshed - this is why it's a quick reply.

Because the page isn't refreshed then the counters are not displayed as they have no time reference.

If you use the normal http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/images/buttons/reply.gif button then the page is refreshed and the counter will display.

We do it this way to speed up the page load for those using the quick reply.
