We are a family of 5 going to orlando for the 1st time :) . I am just wondering where people would recommend eating. More than happy with a Buffet as this means that every one can choose what they would like to eat.

I am after idea's as there seem so many places and we wouldn't know where to start looking.

Thanks

Amanda

I suppose it all depends on where your hotel is,are you on International Drive?

I should have said we are staying at Hawthorn suites LBV and have a car so driving isn't a problem.

Thanks

I've never stayed out that way but I'm sure you'll get lots of advice now.

This isn`t a buffet place, but this is our favourite restaurant, it is fabulous there. There are two locations, one at I-Drive and one at LBV. :-) www.bahamabreeze.com Can`t recommend it enough, it really is that good there!!

I go along with Fiona, and Bahama Breeze, only been at the one on I`Drive but food is excellent, and after buying softdrinks as you usually have to wait ,you keep the glass and get free refills which could save a few $, and do not forget you can share meals if some of your party is young and not big eaters,

We absolutely loved Chillis. Some will recommend the Ponderosa - I wouldn't. But I suppose there is only one way to find out. It's an all you can eat buffet but can be a hit or a miss affair.

We like Ruby Tuesdays and the Longhorn Steak House. Had some good meals in these. Golden Coral is also good if you are after a buffet - lots of choice.

I'll second Bahama Breeze but would also recommend Olive Garden and Tony Roma's. Golden Corral is our favourite buffet restaurant - I think that the choice there is absolutely amazing. Another buffet which is highly recommended is Sweet Tomatoes, but I have not been there myself, only read the recommendations on here. If staying on I-Drive, you could also go up to Citiwalk and there are some great restaurants there, Margaritaville being my favourite.

Do resturants not mind if fussy children share with Adults? My 7 is very funny with food and when we have looked through the gallery she has got aggitated with the size of portions (she eats like a little sparrow).

The novelty of stuffing your face in the all-you-can-eat places soon wears off, and believe me that novelty wears off quicker that you would imagine. You then start wanting something better. Perkins are a good bet for fairly good and honest food for a reasonable budget and are family friendly see the site for menu's and venue's - http://www.perkinsrestaurants.com/home.html

Sizzlers great food at great prices, you choose your meat or fish and your potatoes, then help yourself to the vast hot and cold buffet, fantastic value and last october when we were there with the bill you generally got a voucher for money off next time you visit. There is a Sizzlers in lake buena vista.

Hi Amanda - first time  how exciting! :spin:

Right, for breakfast try the following: IHOP, Ponderosa, Perkins, Cracker Barrel.

Lunch/Dinner - any of the following:
Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, TGIs, Red Lobster, Dennys, Bahama Breeze, Logans, Longhorn, Manny's Chophouse (I27), Ruby Tuesdays.

Most of them have websites - check them out and have a look at the menus - one of my favourite pastimes! :wavey:

I would recommend Outback Stake house, Olive Garden and Bahama Breeze for good table service. Ruby Tuesdays for excellent hand made burgers. To stuff yourselves silly go to Golden Coral. If your kids (or yourselves) fancy something similar to home try MacDonald’s, burger king etc.

Every restaurant I have been in does not have a problem with sharing also 99% of restaurants will give free refills coffee, tea, and all sodas(pop).

We love Sweet Tomatoe buffet on I drive. Its a change from the usual buffets and sells things like salads, pasta, garlic breads, soups, jacket pots etc. As well are ice cream machines and other desserts. Its really good value for money.
