As 1st time visitors to Florida, I am unsure how to get my hands on fast passes for the parks- do we purchase them before we go or when we get there. Can anyone advise? :spin:

Fast passes are free and you get them in the Disney parks. Universal do something similar, but I can't remember what it's called! You can only have one fast pass 'live' within certain time frames so the best thing to is go onto the search section of the forum and type in fast pass. It'll bring up loads of info, I'm sure. We used the fast pass service for all the big rides and we queued for no longer than 10 minutes (when the normal wait time was up to 90 for Soarin')

It's well worth doing!
Have a great holiday!

Fast passes for the Disney parks are available for free once you are in the park. Just go to the fastpass machines by the major rides and put in you entry ticket, and hey presto you get your fast pass ticket for that ride with a time slot.

Universal is different, they have express passes which cost extra and have to be purchased either before you go or at the gate before entry.

Hi and welcome to The Dibb.

In Disney you put your entrance cards into the Fastpass machines by each participating ride. It then gives you a fastpass ticket for use between specific times. You can only get 1 FP in every 2 hours (I think).

In Universal you have to buy the Fastpass ( called FOTL ) either in the park or on line before you go. These passes allow you only 1 access to each ride.

Alternatively, stay onsite in a Universal hotel which gives you 2 days unlimited use for 1 night stay.

Another bit of info. The Disney fastpasses can (and do) run out so plan which rides you def want to do and get your passes first thing and then go and queue for the next ride on your schedule.

Get your next fastpasses as soon as you can, it'll save loads of time.

Depending on when you go, and how early you get there you may not need to pay for the Express passes at Universal. Be warned that they push these hard as you walk from the car to the parks, even if there are only half a dozen people in there that day.

So long as you are early to the parks wait until you get inside and can see the queue times before deciding to buy or not. There is a big board just inside both parks showing current wait times.

Have a great holiday, and start saving because you will re-book. :)
