We're off in a few days time, DS is a bit wary about characters - in the UK that is, hopefully not in Disney
I had not considered a character breakfat, but now I was going to see about booking for a character breakfast at Ohana's after seeing several threads and it sounds good to me - he's only 6 once after all.
What do people think, will it be possible or impossible to get this sort of thing booked with only a few days notice?

Not sure if you can book it in time but it's well worth the effort if you can.
Give them a call NOW and see what you can sort out.
Mads, who was 4 1/2 at the time, loved all the character meals including the Ohana brekky.

It certainly doesn't hurt to try. Call as soon as you possibly can and try to be flexible on the day and time.
Good luck.:thumbs-up

I;m hoping to book one here, stitch is my favorite! He also happens to be my mum's, nan's and my nephew's favorite. My hubby and stepdad will cringe through the entire thing, they just don;t get Disney!!!!

I took the girlfriend on our last morning as she loves stitch. Worth every penny! (or cent)

Hope you get booked, it's a great character breakfast, we loved it. However, one word of warning, please bring your passports or other photo id with you.... when we went the security guard at the gate of the carpark at the hotel, asked us for photo ID, but we did not have any. WE had a terrible time with him, he refused us entry. We explained that we had not been told about taking photo id with us but that did not matter. I even had a booking ref no. but that made no differance to him. WE demanded to speak to a manager, and by this time there was a queue of cars behind us. Eventually I remembered that I did have my driving license with me so produced that, and after merely glancing at it he let us in.

I think you'll be ok getting a reservation so long as you are fairly flexible about having to get their early.
We went last year and although it was great fun with the characters I felt slightly disappointed with the interaction. Not that it mattered though. Our server - sorry "cousin" - more than made up for it and the food was absolutely fantastic.

We had a great time at Ohana breakfast - I thought it was nicely paced - felt a bit rushed at Chef Mickey's - and the servers and characters were great.
We have been there 3 times now - 2x for dinner and once for breakfast and I would definitely go again!

Am I the only one that doesn't understand the relevance of photo ID in this sort of situation. What exactly is it proving, that I am me!!!:confused2 I don't understand how I am less of a threat by showing a picture of me!
Also, anyone is able to go and look around any of the Disney hotels so they really shouldn't make that much of a fuss. I can understand them wanting to see your room key to go back to your own hotel at night but other than that I don't get it!

Funny, we were not asked for any ID in December when going to Ohanas, Perhaps you look like a shifty character!!

I agree Leanne, we thought the same, and anyway, it was only my ID that they saw as DH, DS & DD did not have any. Also, your right, the photo id proved who I was (although he barely glanced at it), but if they were worried we might be there to cause harm, they should have searched our car.
He was really sarcastic too us as well when we told him that we did not have our passports with us. He said that if the police stopped us & we did not have photo id with us they would not hesitate in throwing us in jail. At one point he went to the booth to discuss it with his friend who, never looked up, but just said in a really loud voice, "are they spanish?"????
Yes, I did complain that day and was passed from pillar to post. I never did get a satisfactory answer so when I came home I wrote to Disney Customer Service dept. AFter about 2 wks I did get a phone call from them, they said that the guard had every right to ask for photo ID but that he should not have been so rude. That was it. I have friends who have been to loads of character breakfasts & have never once been asked to produce their photo id. I think that guy was in a bad mood & took it out on us.
The point is though, they can ask whenever they want so it's better to have it with you just in case they are in a bad mood. Chances are you won't get asked but I always say to people now, take it with you so that you don't have any hassle.

Our visit in December and t5he pictures in my trip report must have been an illusion then.

Lilo, Stitch, Mickey to name just 3 were there when we went.
You couldn't miss them, especially when music plays and the characters and willing kids dance around the restaurant, and it is explicitly billed as a character breakfast!
I'll post some photos as proof when I get home if you like!

Definitely is. Best friends breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto

We did this last October (so they definatly have a character breakfast ! ;) ) and thought it was the best one we've done. We've previously done Crystal Palace (in 2004) and Chef Mickeys (in 2005) but in our opinion the character interaction was good and the food was fantastic. My DD drank 6 glasses of the POG juice and we usually have to cajole her into having a small glass of juice in the mornings! ;) :D
The pineapple bread was lovely too!
Tempted to book this again for December but might try another different one!

Sorry i was getting confused earlier in my reply i was thinking of Bomas not having character breakfast.
We got in a lot of trouble at the gate for not having photo ID,the lady at the gate said you must carry photo ID when you drive in florida.

Well worth eating here, did it last year and DS has booked it for his 8th birthday breakfast this June. It's family style not buffet.
