I've heard a lot of mention of hidden Mickeys but haven't a clue what it's all about. Is it some sort of game for the kids (??!!) to play? Is there a prize or is it just for fun? What's it all about?

Finding Hidden Mickey's is great fun and not just for kids! They are everywhere, some are more hidden than others and they are constantly changing, some being removed, others appearing. Some (like in the pic above) are very temporary.
There's no prize, but it is fun to spot them, especially ones you have passed by loads of times without noticing.

You wouldn't think the giraffes in Busch Gardens would get in on the hidden Mickey thing.......but they do .....check the biggest giraffe....just next to its ear

We're gonna buy the hidden mickeys book for when we go next year.I was told it's a great way to relieve queue boredom in kids(and adults!)getting them to spot them and then find the picture in the book :)

I love looking for hidden mickeys. I have been to WDW countless times and only last time did I get the book. I was great fun with DH looking for ones I missed. Favourite is the one in the clouds of Splash Mountain.... won't spoil it but look for him lying down.
If you use Google Earth to find the area on the I-27 at Cagans crossing then follow it north, You will see a huge Mickey which is referred to as a Hidden Mickey.
Made me smile.
