If so, what did you buy and did it fit.

I cannot find anything over here I want for DD's bed. However, at Pottery Barn, they have exactly what I want.

However, she is in a cotbed so even smaller than a UK single. I have no idea what to buy (if anything) and whether or not it'll be way too big.

Also, they don't tend to have duvets do they? It seems to be sheets and blankets.

I am visiting my friend in Texas in June so hoping to bring something back with me.

Help!

I bought quilts or comforters (whatever they are called ) for my girl's single beds from Walmart. I can't remeber the size but they fit nicely on a single bed. I am going to get one for our bed this year.

Thanks. Wonder how much smaller a cot bed is compared to a single.....

I think I'll probably end up buying stuff and getting my mum to alter it. Was thinking, can always make cushions as there's bound to be stacks over.

Found this comparison of US and UK bed sizes on the web - don't know if it will help at all.

I bought a cotbed set from US and it was just cotbed size. No difference. It came with a comforter pillow case and a fitted sheet and top sheet. Hope this helps:)

A comforter is like a duvet with a non-removable cover, and that is what you usually find in the USA.

ooking on Babies R Us, a cot bed mattress is 140 x 70 x 8 cm which is 27inx55in

for a cot bed I think you need crib bedding (since it's basically a crib with the sides removed).

The size of a standard crib mattress on the pottery barn website is 27" x 52".

l - So i reckon you'd be ok for flat sheets and comforters but maybe not for fitted sheets.

For bigger beds, they give these dimensions
Flat Sheet
Twin: 66 x 96"
Full: 90 x 96"
Queen: 96 x 104"
King: 105 x 108"

Fitted Sheet
Universal elastic (elastic around entire edge of fitted sheet).
Twin: 39 x 75", 12" pocket depth
Full: 54 x 75", 16" pocket depth
Queen: 60 x 80", 16" pocket depth
King: 78 x 80", 16" pocket depth

HI

the bedding is fab, last year i bought comforter set in walmart, for double bed, it came with fitted sheet, top sheet and matching pillowcases and pillow shams fab buy. This year i have been told to go to JC Penneys- cant wait. If you are buying a few sets, buy the vacum bags to put them in for bringing back home, they flatten a treat and do not crease, you can fit several in a case!!

I bought a diego set for my sons cot bed last year the cot bed is a UK mamas and papas bed and it fit's ok although the fitted bottom sheet it a bit tight - I'm not exactly sure what they called the bottom sheet but it was something like a junior bed set and was smaller that there single size

I was looking for duvet covers this trip but couldn't find any. Are comforters all they sell? How on earth do they keep them clean? I can't imagine washing a comforter as often as I was a duvet cover.

you don't wash a comforter very often but you would use a flat sheet with it, whereas I don't use a sheet with my duvet.

Ah right, thanks Bev. Can you put the comforters in your washer or do you have to take them to the dry cleaners?

Ahhh this explains alot- I bought a gorgeous "bed set" (I thought it was a quilt cover! Drrr!) from Walmart for DD's bed -when we got home I found out it was a top & bottom sheet!

We usually bring back bedding too - the comforters are great for the girls' beds & there's normally a really good choice.
Vaccuum bags are a great tip - we've used them a couple of times to bring back comforters & cushions (provided the villa has a working vaccuum cleaner of course ;) )

Walmart have a good selection of comforters - We found a great match for our child's cot bedding a few years ago.
