Hi everyone,
I was wondering whether i should visit aquatica as part of my wdw trip in the summer.
Has anyone been there? If so, what was it like??
Any other views??
Thanks :spin:

There have been quite a few threads on here reporting on Aquatica. it seems the consensus is that it's ok, but a bit over-hyped.

Having said that, we will be visiting :)

It sounds worth visiting, and we intend to spend a day there this coming holiday. It's good value for a Seaworld and Acquatica combo ticket at the moment, adults tickets are the price of a childs ticket at $79.95.

We returned from Orlando yesterday and would recommend a trip to Aquatica, however make sure you get there early for the following reasons;

The traffic on I-Drive from the South is busy with cars queueing
The park fills up
There are a limited number of beds available
The queues for the rides are lengthy - we queued for over an hour for the 'dolphin' slide

The lazy river gets very congested
The Roa Rapids are brilliant... a fast version of the lazy river, but without inflatable rings

Beware of the walkways, they get very hot! Add this to the sand and you may get sore feet! (my husband did)

Enjoy!

We got back yesterday & didn't even manage to get into Aquatica!

We arrived at 10am to find they were no longer charging for parking as the car park was full & they were using the staff car park for guests!

Our logic was that if the car park had reached capacity then the park would be heaving with no sunbeds/seating & long queues so we went back to the apartment pool instead.

Some friends decided to brave it & apparently later on they were sending people to park at Discovery Cove & shuttling them back to Aquatica. It was wall to wall people in the park & they hardly managed to get on any of the rides due to ridiculous queues. They couldn't even swim in the pools because you couldn't move more than a yard without bumping into someone.

I'm glad we decided not to bother. I can't believe it's safe to let so many people in. How would a life guard spot anyone in trouble? I dread to think how many accidents/injuries there were that day.

Wow that doesn't sound good! I can understand a lot of ppl wanting to go therefore it would be busy but it's crazy being like that! I don't blame you for deciding not to go, I would have hated it.

Is it the Easter holidays out there at the moment or something? We are going next April/May, I hope it's not that busy then. Is the park smaller than the other water parks? If it's going to be that busy all the time then that doesn't sound good, not well throught through in my opinion. Will still try and go though as it's new.

From what I've read I'm a little disappointed and park logistics of parking and beds doesn't sound promising.

Still there's only one way to find out for sure so we'll be going this year, getting there early.

Could it be worth looking silly, by wearing socks? Should stop feet from getting burnt, on top or bottom.

It looks like this water park needs and early start, maybe best to get there 15 minutes before opening and make a dash for the slides.

What days were people going on, was it the weekend, School Hols etc?

How is it during a normal week is it still this busy?

We are going in May/June so hopefully most of the locals trying the new park crowd will have dropped off. Probably visit it the week after Memorial Day.

If you look on here i have done my report from aquatica last wee whilst we where there (then i didn't forget anything) and yes its good very good i also put some tips in so have a read and the way round the hot floor is buy some like surfing shoes we bought some for DS there and they where $16.95 i think which is not bad and they say aquatica on them. I got mine from cornwall years ago. But you get your feet burnt at the WDW Waterparks its not just Aquatica.
Hope when you go you enjoy as we did. :d:
