when is columbus day weekend?

I understand columbus day is the monday 13th october, so does this mean columbus day weekend is the 11th and 12th?

If so how much does this affect the crowds - should we avoid all parks that weekend or will we be ok to go to universal or a water park?

We were there 2 years ago and experienced Columbus weekend,
VERY busy, parks packed.

We will be there again this year and plan to stay out of the parks for that weekend, will just do some shopping and chill out.

We were there in 2003 weekend was busy and monday packed, but very enjoyable. Saturday we were in MK and the Monday AK, The Americans made us very welcome in the lines, The second weekend was start of school half term holidays back here and a great differance, parks busy with that u.k. theam park effect.

All i will add go to the parks if it is in your plans and enjoy watching the Americans celibrate one of there days,I would deffernatly go again to take this holiday in.

This year we are there for 4th July celibrations, so looking forward to this.
