If only 2 adults were travelling to florida, would a villa or hotel be the best bet ?
Not worried about cost so much as having the best holiday and accommodation will obviously be a huge factor in this. We are looking to book for 2 or maybe 3 weeks.
What do you wise DIBBers advise ?

As I am a villa owner, no doubt I will be slightly biased.
Having said that, if it was just 2 of us and money was no object I would stay on site in either a deluxe Disney property or a Universal Hotel for one week and do the parks and the rest in a villa for the relaxation and privacy.
My DH would stay in the villa no matter what the cost.

Hi Crazydaisy.
We had the same dilema last year. Me and my girlfriend are 27 and wasnt sure about where to stay, hotel or villa. We stayed in a villa in 2005 with 2 couples and loved it. Last year though we opted to stay onsite in disney for 4 nights then stayed in a villla for the last 10 nights. It worked out great as we did all the disney parks when staying onsite and used to extra magic hours to get in early. Then the villa was great to just chill out away from kids ;)
This year we are staying in a villa for 2 weeks but going as 2 couples again. Hope thats some help to you.

Why not try both, a really nice hotel then the relaxation and space of a villa.

Even if I was going alone I'd opt for a villa!!
Even in the most luxurious hotels there is always noise from other's staying there - while I'm not looking for total quiet (I know that's impossible) there is an element of privacy in a villa that just isn't there at a hotel.

Hmmmm Id go for a villa, little bit more relaxed and a "at home" feel.
No maids clobbering through your door as your on your way out ;)
We did hotel the 1st time all be it with 2 kids in tow,but would never do it again, hence a nice vella booked for 14 wks time whoo hoo!!!
Have a fab time which ever option you choose:-)

think i'm the opposite, if i'm on holiday i prefer to get away from the home stuff - no cleaning, bed making or cooking of any sort so i'd go for a hotel, before dd came along dh and I stayed at POR, GF and Grand Cypress all great

I like the idea of a villa more and more I think. The idea of hotel and villa doesn't appeal as I wouldn't like to have to pack and unpack twice on holiday.
Shame there aren't villas on site at disney !

if it was only me and dh would def go for a hotel, perhaps something like the universal ones.

I would choose a villa .. it is just so much easier to pop for a jacuzzi or a swim without having to think about what to pack in your bag to take with you.. there will be no noisy neighbours.
If you chose well you can sit in the jacuzzi without having to share with a lovely glass of champers ( ok plastic ;)) while you watch the sun set ... you can have icecream in your freezer and you can walk naked to the icemaker to get ice if you want to ... can't do that at a hotel ;)
I would also choose a villa, even if it was just me and DH! Having your own space and of course pool is great, I find staying at a villa is far more relaxing, we would never stay at a hotel again, not even onsite, we've been spoilt by the luxury of staying in a villa! ;-)

I'm also of the opposite mind - I love hotels! I love having my towels replaced every day, and the bedding every other day. I enjoy not having to clear away a single dish, wipe a worktop, or any other tiny chore that reminds me of home. Most hotels offer fridges, often with ice-boxes where you can keep that necessary ice-cream, and our favourite (Fairfield Inn at LBV) also has limitless supplies of coffee in the lobby, (just in case turning on your own coffee-maker seems too much like hard work!)

Well I have stayed in hotels villas and condos and if I am staying in the same place for 14 or 21 days then it has to be a condo or a villa
We booked a condo at the bahama bay and paid £45.00 per night via airline network and our condo which was the three bed two bath and it was far superior to most of the £45.00 a night hotels in Orlando
If you want daily maid service then look at a serviced condo, we stayed in a two bed condo at Sheraton vistana villages and had a fantastic maid who rally worked hard to make our stay that little bit more special

We were 2 adults travelling last year and done a week in a hotel then a week in a villa. I think it would depend on where you would plan to stay in a hotl. We stayed on IDrive at the Quality Inn plaza for the first week and it was great for getting to the parks and for eating out at night without having to drive. the second week was the villa and I must say I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere it had. If you forced me to choose I would pick the villa as the private pool and jauzzi done it for me.
Villa - the idea of 2 weeks in the same room and having to eat in restaurants / take-aways would drive me nuts.

Hotel for us as a couple. No clean up and beds changed everyday! Plus 9 times out of 10 closer to attractions. Then there's the free shuttles allowing you to have drink if need be. The opportunity to meet people. And a decider for me THE VIEW. No villa will give you a better view of disney than a Disney property hotel room 20 stories up
As a group though, a villa. The private pool, hut tub and games room is great fun and open all hours! You can play your music louder and you've got space
