View Full Version : supermarkets?
We are staying on Palm Parkway in the CBM Lake Buena Vista and will need to have access to a Supermarket.
Any ideas who may be nearer or more convenient?
Are any walkable, or is it the car everytime??
Will need toiletries/sunscreen etc
Thanx

I'm not sure exactly where on Palm Parkway you are, but you are close to the Crossroads shopping centre, and may well be within walking distance. There is a good supermarket there - Goodings - that is well-stocked. It isn't huge, but certainly sells necessities, fruit, drinks, suncream, magazines, sandwiches, etc. It also sells rather tasty cakes and pastries... ;)

Goodings is the closest to you, it's within walking distance, there are also two Walmart Supercenters within about 5 mins drive

Goodings is closest but expect to pay tourist prices there. There is a Winn Dixie just around the corner (End of Lake Road on SR535) so not much further than Crossroads which is better stocked and loads cheaper. If it's just bits and pieces, drinks, snacks etc there is a small convenience store at the Vista Center right across the road which you could walk to. For more serious shopping Walmart on Turkey Lake Road is about a 10 minute drive.
Avoid Goodings. $10 for bottle of shampoo. No way! Go somewhere else.

I would suggest using Winn Dixie. They are much cheaper in price and have a wider selection. They aren't as nice as Publix (my opinion) but certainly aren't the gourmet style that Goodings started out as.
Coming out of DTD make a left and Winn Dixie is about a 5 minute drive and it will be on your right.

Yes I think Goodings is your closest.
We stay at the Sheraton Safari and its a 5 minute walk to Crossroads shopping complex.
It is a little more expensive than other supermarkets(Winn Dixie etc) but its located in a tourist area and easy to get to.
We didn't find it cost that much to be honest and was very handy and does lovely deli products, cakes etc

We always buy that type of stuff in Walmart.
There is a Walmart on the 535 just down the road from LBV outlet.
