No US Wii games do not work over here

You can buy a freeloader over here which will allow you to use the games

I have not used one so do not know how well they work.

I was planning on buying one and getting a few games too. Never even thought there might be compatibility issues with my daughter's games and DS we got her here.

Where do you get the freeloader from, my dd has been on about it since she saw it in NRevolution magazine its advertised at £9.99 but doesn't say where to get it from.

The free loader is not guaranteed to work on all UK Wii machines, here is a cut and paste from one of the games sites

“ The latest Wii firmware upgrade, released yesterday, hides a dirty little secret. If you've been using Datel's handy Freeloader disc to play import GameCube games on your Wii the latest update is going to ruin all your fun.

If you've updated your Wii the Freeloader will no-longer work. It's unclear whether this was an intentional move by Nintendo to discourage importing, or just an unforeseen compatibility issue.”

DS games work fine and just to give you a rough idea of cost they are about half the price we pay here.

why don't you try a search as there is numerous threads on this topic????

Wii games from America will work in a Uk wii if you use the Wii freeloader.

The gamecube freeloader (which you were able to use in the Wii) has now been blocked as mentioned earlier BUT the wii specific freeloader works. Pal and NTSC is no longer an issue if you have a relatively new tv (last 3 years and 99% of plasma lcd tvs').

wii freeloader is available from ebay amongst other places.

Hi there, I bought an Amercan Wii last year, and have been using it and buying American Wii games on Import from the excellent - play-asia.com, who offer fast service and excellent cheap prices compared to British prices. Have you used the US Wii freeloader?, and does it work to use British Wii games on my American console? as my kids have seen lots of games in the second hand bins in Gamestation etc which they cannot currently buy.
Thanks.

I thought I read somewhere that DS games are fine to buy?? We are planning on taking my sons DS to Walmart and asking them to try a game to see if they work...
I think the price is about half of what we would pay here
