Do you book your villa through VH or just book a fly drive? What is the best location VH offer? Last year we stayed at Emerald Island and it was great. What's the lindfields resort like? Can VH arrange pool heating? TIA

I would recommend just booking flights and car separtately as you get better deals on nicer cars via brokers like airline network.
Then I would book a villa separately too so you can select exactly what features and location you prefer. I think that pool heating booked directly with an owner is cheaper than via VH too. There are villas listed on the Dibb and you can place a request in the 'requests & offers' forum for quotes from owners on here.

We DIY our villa now, we did a VH once a few years back.
Villa was OK but not that private.
Specifically VH named resorts are Lindfields, Espirit, Lake Davenport, Westridge, Highlands Reserve.
There is a high chance if you don't get named resorts you will end up on the US27.
Never stayed at Lindfields but the location is decent.
They will arrange pool heat but it expensive to do so compared to private rentals.
From personal experience I'd suggest you DIY the villa but it can depend on the overall price you get quoted.

Now of course I would be a little biased, especially as all our villas are located in Lindfields, but we love Lindfields.
Pool heat I would always recommend booking with the owner, tour operators / travel agents charge a fortune for it!
I would certainly look at pricing it up DIY, at least then you know, you get to choose the villa you want in the location you want. The villa you book will be the villa you stay in.

We usually book flights (with VA) and car separately, but this year it worked out cheaper for us to book flydrives with VH - we'll then ignore the car they allocate us and book our own separately.
We always book a villa direct with the owner, so we know exactly what we're getting (it seems to work out cheaper, too, especially if you shop around).
Whether you'll need pool heating or not depends on the time of year you're planning on going. We go in October and always use pool heating - as someone else mentioned, it's generally more expensive to pay for pool heating through a TA.

Esprit, Lake Davenport, Westridge and Highlands are all on the US27 or very close to it.

We too would say to look at booking your villa direct with the owners. We are inbetween Emerald Isle and Lindfields on the gated community of Sunset Lakes - Lindfields is ungated but really nice and both are really quick for Disney
