Do you have to put down a credit card when you first arrive at the hotel. I'm staying at the Travelodge on I-Drive in June and wondered what the deal with it is because I will need that CC for other things I should imagine...
Thanks in advance...
We stayed at QI Plaza the first year we went and we never had to put a credit card down when we arrived. The only time we have left a credit card was at the Disney hotel and that was if we wanted to charge to our room.

never had to put down a credit card, but when we stay at the comfort inn universal last year we had to pay a $20 per room deposit when we checked in and we got it back when we checked out.

When you check in the hotel may ask to take a swipe of your card to cover extras and incidentals, they will not charge anything to you card or take it off you but they will have your card details and will charge it with extras like papers phone calls or in room movies that you may watch when you check out,
it is just standard practice for many hotels

Don't have a cc and have never been asked to leave an imprint
When I have stayed off site I have never been asked for a credit card swipe. I have always been asked for a swipe when I have stayed on site. :wavey:
I had mine swiped at Doubletree and Hampton Inn.....however, i gave them Debit card, not credit card.
You only have to have your card swiped at Disney if you want to charge to your room or want express check-out. I dont do either so they dont take my card :)
