Have a look at Walmart.com website - they have bundles of a DS, accessories and 1 or 2 games from around $169 and then 2 games for $25 - dont forget to allow for sales tax but I think its cheaper than UK

we gave ds his on the plane on the way over and it was a godsend. well worth the little extra for the 4/5 hours of keeping him entertained (priceless) shirley

they are still quite hard to get a hold of over there apparently although like the previous poster said they are a god send on the plane both myself and DD have one :)

personally i would say if you are going to get your DD one anyway then i would do so in june and let her get used to it before you go
there is a good few games for her age range (my dd is only 6)

we have
little mermaid
franklin
miss spiders sunny patch and friends

and loads of others that she plays that arn't aimed at her age
one game that alot of people seem to rate for the younger child is called I did it mom which has quite a few smaller games on it as well

hope this helps :)

Yes they are probably cheaper over there but I agree with HayleyandHilda, get her one before hand so she gets used to it and then she can take it on the plane with her. You can always but some games for her over there, which are a lot cheaper. Mt youngest DD (8) brought The Bear Factory and Disney Princessess whilst she was there and loves them. I havn't even seen The Bear Factory one over here. :spin:

i bought DD's here for xmas and got insurance for it, it covers accidental damage which i thought would be good for a 4yr old, so if she breaks it i just take it back and they said they would replace it also does help to keep her quiet on long journey's (GOD SEND) by the way i got it at GAME :thumbs-up

Thanks for your replies, Im not too bothered about the plane journey as she will have plenty to keep her occupied anyway, i was just wondering if there was much difference in price ?

put it this way, i was going to buy a PS3 in the US last summer, over here they wer £400 over there inc tax it was just over £200, another rip off from Britain, i'd get one over there, there is a shop in the florida mall opposite the perfume shop, great customer service in there.

My wife bought a diesel top over there for $90, over here something very similar cost £70, the T Shirts i bought are £30 over here, $47 over there, wait until you see the price of petrol :omg:

I would also suggest taking it on the plane, my 4 year old played with hers extensively and it kept us all sane!

I would also recommend one of these nerf covers (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?Product_ID=65263) they are brilliant. DD has dropped hers loads of times and I am sure we would have had tears but this is a soft plastic case that stays on all teh time and keeps it very well protected

If you decide to wait and buy it in Florida you will save a lot of money. Walmart and Best Buy have these at a fraction of the price here, and the games are half the price.

We bought one when over there in feb. Cost £72 when checked credit card statement, this was just the ds lite no games etc, but games are about half the price they are here. We checked 2 or 3 Walmarts everyday for about 10 days but were always sold out. Got one at Target on the 192 near the bottom of the 535. (you can take goods bought at walmart back to asda if you have your receipt)
Over there they do blue ones and red ones which you cannot get over here. If you buy one over there it will obviously come with an american power lead but you can buy a UK one from Game for about £5.

They are only marginally cheaper in the US so I too would agree that it's worth getting one here for her to use on the plane. You can pick up some great value games in Florida though and we got lots from Walmart & Toys R Us
