View Full Version : Container for swimming (money/valuables)
I remember seeing at the waterparks and in Walmart little boxes (about 5 in tall, 3 in wide and 1 in deep) that opened with a hinge about 1/2 in from the top, had a rubber sealer and a neck cord so that you could put your money in without it getting wet.
Can you get them over here?
My DS is off to Oz on Wednesday for 3 months and will no doubt be on the beach a lot! A zip top freezer bag I don't trust enough.
Any ideas?
I guess he will be able to get one over there but I guess the draw of the beach will ome before the practicalities of shopping!

Asda sell something simlar. I had mine in Turkay last August and it did not let in any water. I had my keys and money in it and left everything else in my bag on the beech.

I remember seeing them last year in the Sports Soccer shop but i don't know if they have them this year. We bought one in Florida and it was a godsend when visiting the water parks but we left ours there when we were coming home.

Search for 'Waterproof Case' on ebay and you'll get a few choices.

Every outdoor shop will sell something similar, especially if they have a canoing section. Ortlieb make the best waterproof cases.
Just beware, I used one of these in the lazy river and in didn't work all my dollars and park tickets were soaked, had to get issued with new tickets.

I'm pretty sure the Australian notes are waterproof and untearable so no problem with your sons money whilst he's at the beach. Unless I dreamed this, which now has me doubting myself! Anyone confirm?

Lots of places have them and the water parks also sell them. I got one from Typhoon Lagoon, about $6 if I remember correctly. It's big enough for credit card, some cash and everyone's park tickets and room keys.
THanks everyone but I'm going to have to leave it up to him when he gets there.
Having tried:
Sportsworld
JJB
Superdrug
Milletts
Oswald Bailey
Woolworth's
Asda
Matalan
and G&T's (our local 'tat' shop)
NOTHING! Perhaps it's a bit too early for them to have thie summer ranges in.
Never mind, if the currency is waterproff then i guess he can make doo with a zip lock bag for starters!
Thanks
