Hope I'm allowed to post this here, if not please remove and accept my apologies :erm: ukscrappers.co.uk has a whole thread dedicated to this under the 'general scrapping' forum. It's a goldmine of information and you will get all the store addresses etc on there. People quite often post discount vouchers on there that you can print and take with you.
I went last year and scrapbook stash made up the bulk of my shopping. It was heaven!
Can't wait to go back next year!

I've always enjoyed shopping at Michaels and Jo-Anns (brilliant for ribbons!), but they don't tend to have newer ranges. Last year I went to the Scrappy Boutique by the Florida Mall, and it was brilliant - lots of Basic Grey, American Crafts, Piggy Tales etc. I also got Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps from Target at a great price, and some Making Memories and K & Co stuff from Walmart.

Walmart have a scrapbooking section near the photo albums if that's any help.

I'm really looking forward to having a nosey around Joanns on this trip, I haven't had time on previous trips. I would love to get into scrapbooking although time is a problem. I've been in 2 Michaels (top of I Drive & The Loop) and they are fantastic.

There is also a shop called AC Moore (thanks Lesley ;)) but you would defo need a car to get to it as its up East Colonial Drive.
Would highly recommend Mouse Memories, it is a lovely shop and the owners are very helpful, they p[ackage evrything really well also so nothing gets damaged. :)

The shop in DTD is a bit disappointing to be honest, but Scrappy Boutique is very good. If you want to drive further afield there are loads of shops, but you would definitely need a car and a good few hours to drive around

Also at the Lake Buena Vista shops there is a Disney Store and they have a section of scrapbooking right at the back (well they did last March) and the things there are so cheap. I picked up a load of bargains :)

I'm so glad you asked this one - my mother-in law is mad on hand made cards and has asked me to have a look at some of these shops to pick her up some bits and pieces, at least I know where to look now!!

Target has a full isles of scrapbooking supplies and they've got some great Disney albums. They've even got some kits that include an album and all of the embelishments to complete an entire scrapbook. I think this is a great option for some older children/teens that might want to do their own book (or big kids....lol).
What is the shop called in DTD please :)
I think the one Bev is referring to is Disney's Wonderful World of Memories.

I would agree about this place. It is good if this is the only option you can shop at (on site and not leaving via bus/taxi/car hire) but you can get a lot of Disney supplies at all of the shops mentioned and typically at a better price. Don't skip it but go to the other places if you have the chance.
Agreed! Plus you will have soooo much fun going around all the other stores, being amazed at the prices!
FLGirl-any good prices on the Cricut just now? I'm looking to treat myself!

To be honest with you, I'm not sure. I'd check JoAnn's and Michael's and see if either have them on sale when you are here. They don't advertise every week in the Sunday Orlando Sentinel but they do run the ads so it is worth picking up a paper. I know they both had one in the paper this week.
Keep in mind that their 50% off coupon generally has a disclaimer that excludes the Cricut.
If you haven't already signed up for the newsletters I would go to both of the website and do that. They both send their ads that way and you might be able to get a better game plan.

I had wondered about asking them that. Do you think you would need to let the hotel know that your are expecting a delivery?

I did email the hotel first Lesley to ask their permission and they said it was fine. I wouldn't see a problem with it.

And so how far in advance are you arranging things with custom crops?
I haven't seen the Expression so was just going to go with the wee one. Are there any other features other than size?

I will probably just place my order the day before we leave as I don't want it to arrive and I am not there.
No I don't think so, just cuts bigger if you want it to. If you are only doing card making them you would be better off with the small one. I would say the bigger one is better for scrapbooking.

I would love to start making a scrap book but really don't know where to start, any tips?
Sorry to hijack thread.
cath, there is really nothing 2 it, im am still an ametuer, havent been doing it long, the good thing about scrapbooking is that there is no rite or wrong way!!! go on2 uk scrappers and they have loads of layouts to give u some ideas. u can also buy layouts pre-made so ll u have 2 do is stick ur pics on, but i think it makes u feel better, when u know u have done it all urself.
If you are going to order the Cricut to be delivered to the hotel I would order about a week before, as it would be worse for it to arrive after you'd left! Mine was waiting for me at the Boardwalk when I arrived, the hotel is quite used to packages arriving and even have a team of people who deal with them.
Cath, UKScrappers has loads of information but it can be a little overwhelming as it's very big and fast moving.

As Bev said there is a lot on UKS about scrapbooking and craft shopping in Orlando, but it is a big site and I am sure its Ok to post this link, and you will see the list of shops around the area even if you do not join in the list is good.

Brody Madison:To start scrapbooking it is perhaps best to buy a kit or if you have a craft shop near by talk to them. keep an eye on the TV shopping channel particularly the big two (if your naughty step is in the UK then they are the ones on freeview). They have pages for you to look at and they explain how to the use the products they are trying to sell. Look at as many example as you can and then get a page made as soon as you have an idea, just do it. It doesn't matter if it is not the best page in the world doing something is will build your confidence.

Don't do it. I did a course in January with my DD who was doing it for her Duke of Edinburgh award and have been hooked ever since. It's lovely but very adictive. We are off to Florida in August and what am I really looking forward to parks, no, the fab villa, no, the weather, no. JUST LET ME GO TO THE SCRAPBOOK SHOPS!

I agree- scrapbooking( or perhaps more accurately buying scrapbook materials!!) is totally addictive. I have just looked up the list of Orlando craft shops and am wondering if anyone cd advise me which are the best and most central to go to? I will be on holiday with my husband and two sons who are not remotely interested in scrapbooking, and so I need somewhere they can drop me while they play golf, or where I can quickly access great stuff while they wait! We are staying in Port Orleans and Vista Cay so anywhere handy to either of those wd be great. Thanks!

As a local I always go to JoAnn's and Michael's. They are big stores and have a great selection. Of course the smaller owned shops might have variety that the bigger stores don't have but I have no problem spending a very long time and lots of money at the chain stores.
There is a great JoAnn's on 192 in the same shopping center that Target is in. Target also has a nice selection (and lately a good WDW selection) so you could do both of those places while the boys were somewhere else.
A suggestion for someone who hasn't done scrapbooking or thinks they might like to try it. They've come a long way in that you no longer have to buy each thing (book, paper, stickers, etc) separately. They have gotten pretty good about putting together a selection to make a scrapbook all in one kit. Typically I wouldn't go for it but for a beginner (or even a child/teen) it is a great way to get your feet wet before making a larger investment. I've been very impressed with Targets option on this. They've had some great Disney themed kits that would be brilliant for a holiday keepsake.
