Hi,

TCD have quoted us £140 extra for 2 preffered rooms, rather than 2 standard rooms at Pop Century.

The lady said that preffered rooms are just nearer to the pool, food court etc

What I would like to know- is it worth the extra £140 for a preffered room?

There will be 4 x adults and 1 x 3 year old on the trip

Thanks

No not at all in my opinion. If you request to be in 50's or 70's blocks they are very near the pools and food courts anyway. It won't take you more than about 5 mins to walk from anywhere really.

Save you money i say! :)

Do you request your rooms with TCD when you book or with the hotel when we get there?

Sorry we are 1st timers! :confused2

I asked the tour operator to note my booking then I phoned Pop Century a week before arriving. We got our request of a high floor, 70's block, lake view. :)

We asked Going Places to note it, we wanted 50s. When we arrived at Pop, no note on their computer. All they could offer us was the 70s, high floor, lake view.
I was a little disappointed at first but it was just the BEST room!! So peaceful, great view and not far from anything. We have since stayed in the 50s and I definately preferred the 70s.:thumbs-up
I would say contact Pop a few days before you leave and have them note your requests.

Definately recommend the 70s.:thumbs-up

Hiya,

a vote for the 80's block here, we stayed top floor facing the computer pool great theming in all areas of this hotel though, and even though 80's is 1 of the furthest away from reception, never used to take more than 10 mins to walk to food hall to refill our mugs in mornin with coffee's and slush for ds, so save your money and go for normal room, we faxed pop a week before we went asking for 3rd floor 80's and got exactly that.

Fantastic! I will definately call/fax pop a week before we go.

Would you suggest a low floor room with a pram, as dd will be 3 and probably zonked out at night?

I suppose with lifts it doesn't really matter?

I'd say a high floor as it's quieter with nobody over you.
