I bought back some beef jerky in my case last time with no problems.

My work colleague (who I bought it for) let me try some - god, it was gross :erm: :pgig:

Don't know about the Mountain Dew (I am sure it would be o.k.) but I am sure someone will be along soon to advise.

i keep trying to tell the BF that you cant bring meat back so i hope he doesnt read that it can go in he case. the only problem with mountain dew is the weight. you might be better off just buying a few bottles in the airport.

Meat, Fish and Dairy Products
Personal imports of meat/meat products and milk/dairy products are prohibited from most countries outside the European Union (EU) including the United States of America, even if they are intended for personal consumption.

All travellers may bring in a limited quantity of powdered infant milk, infant food and special foods required for medical reasons in personal baggage. Items must not require refrigeration before opening and must be in commercially branded packaging, unopened unless in current use.

For other products (not containing meat or milk derivatives), such as fish/fish products (including bivalves), eggs/egg products and honey, you may bring up to 1kg (2.2 pounds). Food must be for personal consumption and free from diseases. The stated limit is per person. If you exceed this limit, the whole amount will be seized.

The same rules apply if you are bringing these food items into the UK yourself, if a friend or a relative is bringing them as a gift, or if they are sent in the post.

Gosh how very rude! :nonono: Dai was only trying to help. It is one thing to lug cases of soda for oneself but quite another to use up precious luggage allowance for someone else when there is a viable alternative.
To the OP Beef Jerky is also available in Asda, and another supplier of mountain dew (incl the red variety) is

I wasn`t being rude, you have mis-red me!! :confused2 Perhaps I think you are being rude to me with what you`ve just said and your angry smilie face, but there you go!! I am well aware thank you that Dave was being helpful!! He asked me "Why carry cases of Mountain Dew back?" and I replied!! :erm: When we have brought back a few plastic bottles of Mountain Dew (the small ones, not the great big ones!!) we just put them in amongst the clothes in a couple of our suitcases. The clothes, Mountain Dew and cases were all fine. No problem at all.

Sorry but being a fairly new member and not a seasoned dibber I was unaware that American Soda had been mentioned loads of times perhaps I should have done a search first! but that would kind of defeat the object of helping those newbies amongst us that are unaware of the importers of American goodies (as I was until some one in work gave me a heads up).
Yes I feel I must agree with Ceri it did seem a little short to say the least
[QUOTE=Fiona;2193845]Because we wanted too!! :confused2 It was not a problem at all!! :erm:
as I was only trying to help those who unaware of the availibility of Mountain Dew etc

The way you said, "Why carry cases of Mountain Dew back" seemed a little short to me too and I just replied that we did it because we wanted to and it was easily done. Your question was short and I did a short answer back. Not intentionally, it`s just what popped into my head at the time. No offence was intended and I`m sure you didn`t mean any offence to me with your short question!! :wavey: In fact I`m going to log onto American`s Soda`s web site when I come off here to order some Mountain Dew for our youngest son who is 16 on Monday. They quite often have offer codes and this time with orders there is a free Cherry Twizzler (don`t know what that is though!!) :confused2

I don't think I was short in my original post and it certainly was not my intention, it was a simple statement and not a question, why struggle with a case of soda in you luggage when it is not overly priced to have it delivered to your door? Especially as I am the poor donkey that has to carry all said luggage. The infill information was simply an explanation of how I discovered that you can order in the UK and why.
The tone of your original reply did in fact appear quite condescending "because we wanted to!!" and the choice of icons to punctuate the point and the use of multiple exclamation marks added to the impression of sarcasm ,which was why my next post stated “I did not intend to cause offence”.
I was under the misapprehension that the purpose of the dibb was to help each get the most out of our trips to Disney and to allow others to share any information and tips that we happen on along the way, which was the intention of my reply.

Problem is that it is 10X the price here!!

I will be bringing some back this time (I will pretend I didnt read the previous post with the DEFRA rules)

We don`t struggle with the Mountain Dew in our luggage, we only bring back a few bottles and like I said, it`s no trouble at all. In any case, I have DH and two strapping teenage boys (16 & 17) who are over 6` to carry the luggage!! ;) You seem to have mis-read my reply, but that often happens with posts on the dibb. The way one person reads and interprets a post and its replies (smilies and punctuation too!!) will often be different to someone else`s interpretation. That is just human nature. The main thing in all of this is the dibb is here to help everyone in lots of ways and American Soda is a great company. :D I guess we`d best get back on topic now as the original question was about beef jerky and Mountain Dew and we`ve managed to go right off course analysing each other`s posts!! :erm:
