Is this part of the Kennedy Space Centre or at a different location? THere is a launch of a G2 rocket on 30 June while we are in Florida and I was thinking of going. Anyone been to a launch of anything other than the space shuttle and is it just as good?

Hi
Yes it is all the same place, we have watched both the shuttle and rocket go up. rockets are not as good as seeing the shuttle but are still worth going to watch if you have not seen one before.
We watched the rocket from the Jetty Park at Port Canaveral, on the Atlantic Ocean just south of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station border.

It is the same and like already said it isn't as grand as the shuttle but it is still good to see especially if you can combine it with a day at the space center or a day at the beach. On a clear day you can see it from Orlando. I live just 3 miles from Universal and can typically see it from our house.

The rocket launch facility is still on the Kennedy space centre, but where they launch the rockets is in a different area from the shuttle launch facility
they launch the rockets from a facility which is located a few miles south of the shuttle launch area
if you want to view from outside the space centre then state Road 528 over the Indian River also known as the Bennett’s Causeway, or State Road A1A along the Atlantic Ocean in the Cocoa Beach area and finally the Indian River on highway 1 in the Titusville area all possible viewing locations
If you want to view from the centre then you would have to look at the space centre website for more info
Experience a launch at KSC (http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/launches/index.asp)
