Daytona Beach

We are planning to spend a day at Daytona.

Can anyone give me any tips on places to visit, eat or best part of the beach etc. please?????

well i'm going to be of no help cause when we went to Daytona beach there was not a soul on it apart from us;) it was december but it was a glorious day :spin:
1 tip ... dont drive your car on the sand as we did cause you may end up out of the car pushing:pgig:

We went to Daytona for the day during our last holiday (Aug 2007). As already mentioned the beach was totally empty but glorious all the same - we didn't stay too long as we only really headed up to Daytona so the boys could visit the Speedway.
The boys did enjoy Daytona Speedway but I must say it was not my cup of tea but if it gets the kids and hubby happy who am I to stand in their way:)... With regards to food we eat at the racetrack - burgers and chips - wasn't too bad.
We went for a quick drive round but didn't stop for shopping or anything.
