I'm looking for a bit of Dibber inspiration here!
Can anyone suggest something to do or somewhere to go as an alternative to the theme park / shopping mall circuit for one day which would be attractive to all the family and not too expensive.
(Preferably, it would be within no more than a 1hr drive from Int Drive / Kissimmee.)
Thanks in advance. I'm confident that there are some hidden gems out there just waiting to be discovered!

We really enjoy a trip on the airboats at Boggy Creek, although this wouldn't take all day. www.bcairboats.com
You could do this in the morning and then Gatorland in the afternoon? :d: :d:

we loved Forever Florida, but a great one if you love animals is the Big Cat Rescue at Tampa, you get a guided tour of all the cats they have rescued over the years, from tigers from the big las vegas shows to pumas and jaguars from private collections, it was amazing :)

one of the best day we had was at blue spring state park. took a boat trip saw loads of wildlife including gators and manatees it wasn't at all expensive $19 each i think. the trip took just over 2 hours and our guide Gary was great. the trip goes out at 10am and 1pm we went on the 10am one. we were told this is the better one for gator spotting.
after the trip we walked along the boardwalk to the source of the springs had a ice cream from the quaint little hut/cafe.
an added bonous on the day we went just by chance they were doing a manatee release. 3 manatees that had been injured were released back into the wild .
we have done the airboat rides a couple of times before and although we really enjoyed them this was far far better in regards of wildlife and scenerary.
just to add it took just over the hour to get there along the I4 (not good at directions) the oppisite way from tampa.
just do a serch for bluesprings state park and the boat trips should come up St johns river boat trips i think it was.
hope this helps

I like the sound of that. We've got a free day now and I too am looking for something different to do
