I always use the NYC forum over on the Trip Advisor website, full of local experts who know absolutely everything you could ever wish to know about NYC! :)

And another http://www.wirednewyork.com/forum/index.php although to be honest the dibb are a good source of info as well for NYC, Hop Stop is great for planning journeys and very accurate

Thanks for the link i shall add it to my list. Youre right the DIBB is good (it always is) but i'm looking for a dedicated forum so i can just scroll down and click whatever catches my eye. Thats basically what i do when i'm Florida trip planning and browsing here.
There is a lot of New York info on here but i would have to go through a lot of posts and go over a lot of similar info if you know what i mean. Thats why i'm after something a bit more dedicated.

I must admit most of my info has come from the Dibb for my forthcoming New York trip.
Plus I feel I can ask a question here. I asked one once on one of the others and got a very snappy reply so I avoid asking questions like the plague now! Just browse through the others occasionally but the Dibb is by far the best.
Check out some of the trip reports. Fab photos and good tips in the trip report section.

I have been using the trip advisor forums - really great source of information.
Plus of course the Dibb ;) especially some of the trip reports.
I have got the Brit's Guide to New York and also the Rough Guide to New York City which have both been invaluable.
I do like to hear about other's experiences though that is why I enjoy reading the forums.
