Hi
we did the dolphin swim just 2 wks ago, we had the pool shoes, most folk didnt, but we were glad we had them as some of the rocks can be quite sharp and they arent at all the same level in the water etc, they were about $16-18 in dc itself, we bought ours on ebay for £5.99
wallgreens had them for $7 prob not as good as the ones at dc though,
you will have a great time there its brilliant

We've bought ours from Soccer World especially for DC and they were £3.50 a pair.

Yes, you definitely need them, as getting out over the 'rocks' would be quite painful without them!
We bought ours from one of the 'Bargain World' outlets for about $6 I think, and they were worth every penny.
If you've not done DC before - you will absolutely love it! :wavey:

Yes can vouch for the rocks being sharp, dh cut his feet both times we were there, 2nd time he had to use the first aid guy! You can see on the dvd when he did it but he tells everyone the dolphin bit him! I think if we go again we will def get shoes.

I did the dolphin swim last year and i didnt have any shoes. I found it fine without them. Im doing it again on the 1st of june and i wont be having any shoes. I didnt see anyone else with them on when i was there last time! Its personal choice really.
I just love the whole experience and cant wait to do it again.

The lagoon with the dolphins isn't too bad on the feet - it's the snorkelling lagoon that's 'rocky'.
I would definitely recommend you get some swim shoes - you don't want to spoil such a fabulous day. :spin:

We did DC last August and didn't use the swim shoes. Didn't even know they were an option and certainly didn't miss not having any. We also didn't notice anyone else wearing them or any sharp rocks :confused2 mustn't have been looking in the right place?
The only problem we had underfoot was that the sand on the beaches was VERY hot and we had to hop or run in and out of any shade!
You'll have a great day - it was the best day of our holiday

Yeah - you should get some just in case. I was fine but the kids needed them. The thing is its such an expensive day that for the sake of £3.50 in sports soccer world you should come prepared. Although I have to say it's not a good look.
Have a great time.

We have done DC twice now and never worn any swim shoes and can't say i noticed anyone else wearing them and we never found any sharp rocks. It is a magical day and worth every penny
P.S if you did want to buy swimshoes then try Walmart they are very cheap there :thumbs-up

We found the sharpish rocks were on entering and leaving the coral reef lagoon.
We noticed quite a few people wearing the swim shoes on our trip, and there seemed to be a few people buying them at one of the little tiki hut stalls at DC when we were browsing (and they were a lot more expensive than outside of DC!).
In fact it was a Dibber who advised us to get them for our trip last year.
The choice is yours I suppose. You don't need to wear them anywhere else but in the coral reef lagoon. We just took ours off when we changed to the swim pool, lazy river and the dolphin swim.
Enjoy, whatever you choose! You'll love it. :wavey:
