Hey Nicola,
Personally I really like this place. it is rally nice to get up close and personal with the gators (they also have a new splash park for younger visitors) I would however try to combine this with something like an airboat trip at Boggy creek and going to the Florida Mall as you can be done in a couple of hours.
look out for money off coupons or print one from their web site

Went here a good few years back and did enjoy it. Gator feeding times are good fun and they did a snake show too (not sure if they still do that).
It's good to get away from the main theme parks when you feel Disney'd out! This is just the ticket to get you back on track.

Would definitely do it again, but as Phil said it doesn't take up a whole day, so plan something else to go along with it for that day, we went here late morning, then went to Mall at Millenia so it was a nice relaxing day away from the hustle and bustle of the big parks.

We went a few years ago and thought it was a lovely relaxing and interesting day. The gator wrestling and feeding shows are great and it's nice just to walk round the lake and see all the herons in the trees.
You can easily see all the shows and animals in less than a day.

This is a great place to go and like others have said it doesn't take the full day. I always recommend to combine this with an air boat ride (Boggy Creek is close by) or if you have small children an afternoon at Green Meadows Farm is a brilliant place to go (also close).
my family loved it here and we plan on going again this year it make a nice change to all the hussle and bustle of the other parks.
We did gatorland 2 weeks ago..
Not a whole days worth really but good for a restful time..
They did the snake show I got a 12 Boa draped around me .. and really heavy..
My DGS6 loved it especially the small water park on the the hot day.

I love Gatorland - always try to pay a visit.
complete change of pace from the main parks. Well worth half a day of anyone's time.

We have been twice and I am sure trips back will take place. It is different from the parks and worth the trip.

Would it be a good place to go for our first afternoon?? Arriving Friday evening so thought we'd have a relaxed morning and go here in the afternoon - what do you think ??

It is only really worth a half day visit unless as mentioned you combine it with an air-boat ride. Park hours are 9am - 5pm. Check the website at www.gatorland.com for shows, entrance price & a discount voucher.
We have visited once & it wasn't all that great IMHO, we won't return for the foreseeable future

We quite fancy a trip to Gatorland, but aren't driving this year, is it easy to get to on buses or any idea how much a taxi would be??
