Just come back from Disney and had the following piece of good luck i thought i would pass on.
Last year we went and purchased 4 seven day premium ticket for the family from ATD. While we were there we decided that due to using only 4 days out of the 7 and 2 water park days we would upgrade them at Disney to non expiry, which we duly did at a cost of about $90 each.
So went this year with 3 main park days left and 4 water parks.
While at Animal kingdom i popped into customer relations and enquired about adding another day to enable us to have one full day at each park. Certainly sir said the assistant, your tickets are UK issued and are discounted, so we will honour that discout and the cost for each day will be $38. To do this we will issue with the nearest US ticket which is called 8 day fun pass which will add the extra day you require and it will also give you 2 extra free days for the water parks etc.
What a fantastic saving, so if you have upgraded your tickets and want to add more days bear this in mind. The gate cost was $78 + tax.

It's possible to add extra days and non-expiry to all the Magic Your Way and Premium tickets up to a maximum of 10 days. If you have days left it can work out cheaper than buying another set of tickets for your next trip.

I didnt realise you could upgrade the premium ticket to non expiry - although I have to say I'm so confused at the moment I've probably thought of something else.

thats good to know.

we up-graded our tickets last year also, as we had 3 disney days and 4 waterparks.

will probably add a few days when we go then and then we can use them another year.

Scotty - the 5 & 7 day tickets can be upgraded, but not the 14 or 21 day ultimate tickets.

Could you upgrade tickets with 1 day left from '96 ???

you can certainly use them, but I'm not sure if you can upgrade them. i think they would give you a credit towards a new ticket, which wouldn't be worth as much as just using it for a 1 day admission.

Thank you so much for your advice.

We bought the 7 day Premium ticket in 2006 and upgraded to non-expiry as we had 3 park days and 4 water park days left.

Originally we were planning to park hop between Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Then I was thinking it really in nice to be able to spend a whole day so started to look for 1 day tickets. The price of these seemed steep and the purchase of another 7 day ticket seemed to be the way to go (£152) and then pay to make them non-expiry once in FL ($55).

Having read your post, I think I'll wait until we get there and 'add the day' (or 3 ;)) then.
