OK I am a complete wimp when it comes to rides. I have done tower of terror and needed a lie down after words. :erm: And I did the test track which was ok as it was like driving in a mates car.

But have decided that I am going to be brave at least once this next holiday. So now it is over to you to decide (be gentle  ). What is the least scariest of the scarey rides at Disney.

For example would you rate Aerosmith over Tower of terror in the scarey factor.

I promise to do my very best and go on the most popular ride (those stuck in the UK in November will probably here me curse the dibbers as I plummet to my doom) but I will do it....... probably.

I have never done Tower of Terror and can't imagine I ever will, but I really really enjoyed Rock N Rollercoaster. the fact that you can't see it before you board really helps, and the music also helps, I was so busy singing along that I didn't have time to be scared.

If I were you i'd do ToT again, you didn't like it the first time but you know your ok so i'd start with what you know and go from there

Good luck!

It depends what you find scary.x Personally i think if your looking to be superbrave then you need to ride Mission Space in Epcot. But thats quite intense. So Splash Mountain is a good ride , theres a big drop i reckon anything with a drop on it would make you brave. and I wouldnt rate the rocking roller coaster starring aerosmith scarier than the tower of terror., i dont think either of them are scary but then, i love roller coasters.x

My 11 year old son loves RNR but TOT scares him to death, its the dips that he hates,so I suppose it matters what scares you the most.

No no no no no no no no NOT Mission Space Brave.... seeing the warning signs was brave enough for me. Splash is ok - don't mind that but ToT did me in.

OK so RnR is a possible..... Is it in dark?

If you can do ToT then nothing else at Disney is that scary, but it does depend what scares you. I'm a real wimp and can ride everything at Disney except maybe that Evil Whirly thing at AK which is very vomit inducing and the teacups which have the same effect, I have ridden every attraction at least once.

Why don't you try Mission Space on the less intense side and see how you feel, then you could decide whether to do the full version.

Have you tried Thunder Mountain?

i would not do Tower of terror im too scared and dnt like coasters as such but i do stuff like splash mountsin and Journey to Atlantis because they are just the 1 drop and i can cope with that lol. I dont know why but on my last trip i went on rock and roller coaster sat waiting to set off i was petrified but i loved it in fact went on several times and looking forward to going on it again next year. Splah mountain drop makes my stomach churn but R n R didnt. previous trip to that i did space mountain which again was ok and holds no fear for me now. Mission space had me thinking what all the fuss was about (no i didnt do the wimps version lol) but i know a lot of people have been on and it makes them sick afterwards. Im fine with Mummy too its in the dark fast and no drops

Mission Space is absolute pants!

If you want a starter coaster then I would say Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. If you want something more scarey then go for Expedition Everest.

I used to be ride wimp  But on our third trip I promised my boys I'd do a 'big' ride.....my middle son said he'd pay me a tenner to do RnR....I was terrified....but absolutely loved it.....now there's no stopping me....I love my coasters....I'm a screamer and proud ;)

I'm a wuss too, I love BTMR, it's my fave ride ever, have you been on that? I can also do Space Mountain just about OK. Tower of Terror I don't think I will ever go on, as I hate spooky things and also I would probably throw up during the drop! Test Track is fantastic, love that too!

tiggerfan - glad to hear that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster didn't make your stomach churn, I'm thinking about trying that ride next year. DD went on it for the first time ever, it was her first upsidedown ride and now she wants me to go on it as well, lol.

Great topic!
I'm exactly the same as some of you guys, I've done and enjoyed :-
Big Thunder
Splash
TOT
Mission Space
Soarin

I'm scared of heights and going upside down but I want to conquer these fears but in a gradual way.

Karken, Hulk and dueling dragons are my targets So what's the next step up to get me to those ?

My advice is don't do anything you aren't comfortable with.
I too hate Tower of Terror, but did it once so the kids didn't think I was a wimp and I now consider myself able to say I didn't like it. Tower of Terror to me , is the worst ride at Disney - anything else will certainly be a doddle - enjoy!!!

I have only ridden Everest once, and never again, the going backwards bit made me feel very peculiar! Shame as I loved the height of the ride with brilliant views, why did they have to go and put the backwards part in?

I think that everybody should try the rides that they fear at least once, then if you still don't like it then fair enough, don't try it again. I was scared when i first went on the tower of terror but have been going on ever since and loved everytime. If you don't try something you don't know whjat your missing especially when it comes to the tower of terror! Even though I've been on the tower of terror many many times I still dont get bored. As I said I think that everybody should face up to their fears, anyway you only live once and its too short. Whats there to lose????

Dont know how i got roped into it but now kids say i have to try a new ride every time i go. last time i tried to get away with it being Soarin but no such luck so thats when i tried R n R it was so fast that it was over before i knew it and didnt even realise i had been upside down lol

Deano, I would try Rock N Roller - no big climb at the beginning (which is what always freaks me out), and i don't think it has a proper upside down, only a corkscrew, eitherway it happened so fast I didn't have time to worry about being upside down!

That is indeed horrible, that's probably the worst ride I've ever been on - I was on with my friend's kids (Hmm, wonder why my friends decided to sit that one out ), and I was sure I was going to embarrass myself by being sick!

I asked a similar question last week and was recommended RnR and space mountain as a couple of easy to do scary rides!

I am a huge coaster fan and have done them all so I would suggest hulk first its fast but great fun! then kraken thats fast and bigger than hulk then if your really up for it the fire (red) dragon on duelling dragons then lastly the ice (blue) dragon at the back but be warned in my opinion duelling dragons is the scariest of them all because it is a hanging coaster and it is quite fierce!!! Above all have fun and if you really dont feel you can do one or all of the coasters dont feel like u have 'chickened out' your on holiday and as long as u have fun and enjoy yourself thats all that matters!!!

ToT is my biggest scary ride I have never done, its the 'drop' thing that puts me off.

I have done Kraken, The Mummy (my fave) and RnR which is wicked :thumbs-up .

Edited to say I have done Everest as well butI thought it was lame, it really disappointed me and gave me a banging headache as well (dd was 10 and she went on twice in a row).

You lot are all brave compared to me, can't manage any of those rides. This trip the kids got me on tame Mission Space, Test Track and Pirates. Mission Space was ok and would do again, test track didn't like but i did get less scared so would do it again, pirates, I was terrified as I hate drops and thought it would be like the dlp one but it isn't, it is a lot easier but I still would prefer not to go on it! But I do love my Soarin and I'm fine with any of the simulator type rides, although I close my eyes in spiderman!

DH and kids know not to push me as I really am terrified of fast rides. did the sorcerers apprentice at legoland a few years ago and it took me about an hour to stop shaking, and I don't even think you can count that as a coaster!!!

Rock N Roller is the way to go. It's not really a scary ride as such, I think exhilarating is a better word. It may look scary as you watch it launching into darkness, but it's never truly dark. Honest.

You'll love it, you really will :)

The first time I ever went to WDW I trembled at going on the Rocky Mountain Coaster but once done I wanted more.

Now I will do anything at Disney. Nothing they provide is that scary or wild and my six year old is tall enough to go on any of them.

The only one I will not do is TOT and that is because I hate heights and that falling feeling.

Rock and Roller coaster is great because it is enclosed so you never get that fear of being up high, it is all very cosy and really enjoyable. The fact that it accelerates on the flat avoids the large initial drop that scares me in most coasters and instead keeps the whole ride relatively flat zooming around the curves etc.

Go for it - you will enjoy it if you let yourself

When I first went to WDW in 2005 I wouldn't go on any of the scary rides not even splash mountain but the next year realised I was missing out on so much and so braved Everest :omg:
Last year I decided to push myself a bit more and did Terror Tower and Rock n Rollercoster although I was petrified waiting in the queue for both these rides :omg:
I loved RNR but hated TT and did'nt stop shaking for ages afterwards.
DH wants me to go on it again this sept but don't know if I can !
Want to try and step up to the next level after RNR but not sure what to try any suggestions anyone ?

I think you've just about cracked the Disney rides really :) Seaworld's Kraken would be a good next step. Have you done Universal or Busch? I think they are the parks for people wanting the next step up from the one's you've done. Shiekra at Busch always gets my vote. Sure it's scary, but it's the smoothest and most exciting ride I've ever been on. As is Montu.

But seriously, since you've now done TOT, Everest and R&R, you can pretty much do anything! But if you loved R&R, you will probably love Hulk at Universal's IOA :)

Definately Expedition Everest. But keep your eyes open if you can. First time I went on I missed all the effects cos I had my eyes shut all the way round!!

Personally I would do Rock n Roller coaster - the worst bit is sitting in the car waiting to go but once you go it is over so quick that you don't have time to be scared, and the music will help take your mind off the coaster
