there are also loads of posts from people who have really liked this park.

Its like everything else, you should make your own mind up, and the only way you can do that is by visiting yourself.

It was "fine", nothing spectacular, I couldn't see myself spending the whole day there as it was very crowded still at 3pm when we arrived - we stayed for a couple of hours - the one great thing is the fast river - you get yourself a life jacket and get carried away.
The normal lazy river was nice too.
Unless you hire a cabana, there don't seem to be any quiet places tucked away - you can normally find somewhere, even at wet and wild.

I have 200 or so pics up from around the time it opened:

I liked the park very much - but I haven't been when crowded either.

We liked the park, though it was crowded the day we went. We got there early and still had to queue for a while to get in. We chose our sunbeds before getting a locker and got a nice location near the big pool and backing onto rocks. The queues for dolphin plunge were really long, so we didn't bother with that. Everything else was an OK length queue. We also bought the cook-out wrist bands, so we could get food & drink whenever we wanted with no queuing. It's not quite up there with the Disney water parks but still very, very good. Hopefully once it's been open a while the management will have resolved some of the queue problems.

We haven't been, but it seems from reading the post's, that most bad reports are to do with over crowding, not the park itself.

Aquatica doesn't sound quiet as good as BB or TL, but we're hoping to go next year when it's all calmed down a bit.

We've just got back and loved Aquatica, we went twice!

The first time was very quiet so we done all the rides and really enjoyed them, the second time was quite busy but got there late (and it was UK half term) When there were big queues we just went on the crazy river which is fantastic, my 5 year old had to be dragged off it, only trouble is the lazy rivers just seem boring now.

I thought this park had a really good atmosphere and loads of lifeguards, The only thing that got on my nerves was the recordings being played over the speakers!

We we're really looking forward to going but have been put off abit by quite a few reports especially to do with how busy it is. I know this will be due to the fact that its newly opened but going in August, think it will be just as busy. Also there doesn't seem to be much shade which we could do with.
We may stick with the other water parks which we loved, but knowing us we'll change our mind when we get there!

A mum from my DDs school has just come back and also said it was the best water park they had been to....they spent more than 2 days there and loved it.....she said its really geared up for the kids and they could have spend the whole day there.
She also said it was too crowded at WDW and this has put her off going to WDW again next year...but it didnt seem to be too bad at Aquatica:thumbs-up

Another vote for Aquatica - I have been to water parks all over USA, Australia and Europe and its the best park I have ever been to too!! Fantastic setting, exactly the same crowd levels as the Disney Parks (but much more spacious as you can actually move between the beds - more like DC in layout than a normal water park), loads to do, beautiful animals - 10/10!! We loved it so much we also went twice too and would of gone more if we had time! I honestly dont know what some people expected with regards to crowds in the first month of opening and in the Easter hols! xx

We all thought it was great fun. And will definitely be going again.

Only 'grumble' was how hot the pavements were...

We spent 4 whole days there in April/May and loved it. It's no different from any of the other parks with regard to crowding. That is, if you go at busy times, expect it to be crowded. The park itself is superb and, I think, probably the best water park for kids.

The concrete does get hot though, especially the red bits.
