Can anyone recommend a good 2 bedroom apartment style hotel in central New York. Must be reasonably priced though as we will then be going on to Orlando :d:

The Affinia Hotels are very popular and highly rated on TA. They have a couple hotels in NYC that have 2 bed units. I dont remember off hand which ones but I think the ones on the east side.

Radio City Apts is another one. A bit lower quality then Affinia.

The London NYC has 2 bedrooms but prices will be over $1000/nt.
The Kimberley is another fancy 2 bed prices near $800/nt.
The Alex Hotel is another pricey $1000/nt.

The Best Western Hospitality House has suites with 3 beds and a sofabed.

The Millenium UN hotel has 2 bedroom suites.

The Doubletree in TS has 2 beds and a sofabed. Prices over $500.

There are probably more but you can see the prices are high. The Affinia and Radio City may be the cheapest.

Added: I forgot to say I have not stayed in any of them.

Not quite what you are looking for if you are after a 2-bedroom appartment, which is 2 bedrooms and a living room - if however you are after 2 rooms to sleep in, i.e. a 1-bed appartment, you could try a Marriott Courtyard King Suite, which has 1 bedroom and a separate living room with a sofa bed (and fridge, microwave etc.). The one in Jersey City (10-mins or so to Midtown on the neighbouring Path train) cost us from $249 per night +taxes. Very convenient for flights to and from Newark (EWR).

Also check out this thread (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=2222227).

We stayed at the Eastgate Tower Hotel on 37th and 3rd. Huge room with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed that pulled out in the lounge. Big kitchen too. Much more like an apartment than a room.

The Chelsea Star Hotel - just opposite Madison Sq Gdns has suites and huge rooms. It's a budget price hotel, not luxurious but it has all we need and we will be staying there for the 3rd time in August. We've had a 1 bed suite and for the last 2 times a huge room that sleeps 5 of us. We're paying just over $300. It's a great base for exploring.

We stayed at the Milburn Hotel (http://www.milburnhotel.com/index.html)on the Upper West Side, a quiet and safe neighbourhood just 10 minutes walk to Times Square and a stone's throw from the Subway.

We had a 1 bedroom suite which consisted of a King Size bedroom, a lounge with pull out double sleeper sofa and a kitchenette.

The bathroom was spacious, well equipped, modern & clean. There was plenty of storage space and it felt huge for 3 of us.

Prices start at $239 per night.
