JUst found a good deal for me and my friend, and our 2 girls.
21st -23rd December for £104 in total. :erm:
We are hoping to do this as an extra trip just to see DLP at Christmas and save our clubcard vouchers for airmiles to pay for flights. So...hoping that this little trip will only cost £52 plus park tickets.
Just looking for the thumbs up from you lovely lot! :D
Anyone stayed there? :spin:

Stayed in a Campanile in Le Havre, very basic but ok, bit like an american motel, door straight outside. Stayed at 2 non disney hotels in that area and was not impressed at all. I know I can be fussy but will not do it again, stained carpets, beds that you could see the dip in even with the bedspread on. Sorry to put a damper on it but esp at christmas I wouldn't risk it but that is only my opinion.

I've stayed at a couple of Campaniles, one of them near DLP (can't remember the name but could well have been the same one) - the room was VERY basic, but was clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet was quite nice.

Ok, what about the Chanteloup?

Would you class the Campanile as a bit like a Travelodge?
Or worse?

Last September I stayed in 5 different Travelodges across the South of England & Wales (all the same really, they were fine, great value, clean etc). We then went by Eurotunnel to France & during our trip we stayed for 7 nights in 2XCampanile, 2XSuitehotel and 3XB&B hotels).

The Campaniles cost approx 75euro each. As another poster said the Campanile (and the B&B hotels) are actually motel style with outside corridors. The 2 we stayed in were in Bayeux and Lisieux, like the Travelodges they were exactly the same, so I presume the one you mention is similar too. Those 2 were fine, not as big as Travelodge rooms, clean, safe etc. I would prefer Travelodge but that was really only because the Travelodge rooms were bigger and we weren't tripping over one another, other than that they were much the same idea.

Hi stayed there May 2004. It was pretty new then. We had a family room for 4, and once the extra beds were out, it was a bit of a squeeze, but we were hardly there! Spent all our time at the parks, and it was a clean convenient and cheap base. Had the breakfast every day and one evening meal; from memory it was all perfectly fine!

We stayed it a Campanile in the centre of Paris. As everyone says they are basic but clean and the breakfast is good but not always included in the price. I would say they are more like an Ibis hotel. There is the advantage of having stuff to make a cuppa in your room.

Good value and perfectly adequate

We've stayed in Camponiles when taking kids from school to DLP and Paris. They were fine. Rooms quite small but everything you need. Very nice breakfast buffet.

PS You are quite safe - we aren't going to DLP with our school this year Boo Hoo!!

I've stayed in the Etap at Val D'europe for 55€ per night for a room that sleeps 3. It was basic but very clean and right next to the RER station if you are not sure of the campanille this is another low budget option it might be worth considering

Great, I'm still looking, so will have a look at this one.
What are the rooms like? Do they have coffee making facilities? And decent shower room?
Thanks for the info!:thumbs-up

Just done a search there and they are charging £173 for 2 nights, for 2 separate rooms, with breakfast including! Bargain!

we stayed at the tulip inn when we went at xmas 2 year ago..it cost us around £45 a night we stayed 2 nights...it's right next to the RER..Your not there to spend time in your room so i would go whatever is cheapset..there's also a premier inn which is really cheap but that's like a formula one type

We stayed at an Etap in Paris a few years ago, and I believe they are all exactly the same, you are looking at a very basic room with a bunk bed (double below, single above), a premoulded shower room with shower and loo in one unit, and a sink in the room. I can't remember if there was tea/coffee, I thnk we used a vending machine in the lobby.
It was extremely basic, however it was spotless and quite comfortable (apart from drawing the short straw and having to sleep on the top bunk!), and we got a trip to Paris for £15 per person per night which is a steal anyway you look at it!

I would be happy to stay at an Etap, but you do need to know what you are getting, and it's more youth hostel than luxury hotel. You can see the room here (http://www.etaphotel.com/gb/discovering-etap-hotel/hotel-room.shtml) ours was very similiar, so I imagine they are all the same.

I stayed at the Campanile Bussy St Georges in July 2006. The hotel itself was ok - rooms clean but small - but the staff were very rude, the room key kept breaking (it was a card) and the staff made us wait for ages outside our rooms at 11pm after a full day at the parks with two little kids, they did absolutely nothing to help. There is nothing to eat or drink there after 9pm - even the vending machines were broken!

Despite being advertised as easy to get to DLP it WASNT - the walk to train stop was quite long so we ended up getting taxis and for the extra cost we could have stayed onsite!!

I would stay there again, but ONLY if I was driving as then you could go out and get food etc.
